Sorry if I missed it, but usually tower cranes in towers like this are in the middle of the floorplate - what's the reason for this outrigger arrangement? Because they don't have to patch up the floorplate holes later, or because otherwise it'd be at risk of hitting the 215 Lake tower crane, or because of some other reason?

Edit: I see this was discussed on thread page 14 and seemingly answered in post number 295: new policy of the contractor that requires a particular safety certification that is no longer obtainable, resulting in this expensive alternative configuration.

Photo taken around 2:00 pm today (9/21). It might be hard to tell, but they're finally getting above ground with the steel framing on the left/north side.

They're up to the third floor with the steel -- at least on the west side.

Looks like there may be an access to the adjoining garage. The floor plate looks to outline an airlock foyer connection. I could see a security door to the main building that allows tenants to pass through. They bricked up the entrance, but that could be for secure construction phase., And it is left unpainted to outline where the door will be cut when ready.

I think the ramp down to the building's own basement level parking is going in that corner, so unless things have changed, I don't think you will see a connection there.

So all that early steel that was erected for the crane base just becomes part of the building?

Great shot, as usual. Appears to be from 155; which floor exactly? Hopefully not above 36... I'm looking forward to seeing the action at eye level!
