SUNNY ISLES | Turnberry Ocean Club | 649 FT | 52 FLOORS

The Soffer family is building a big new, 52 story, 150 unit luxury residential tower in Sunny Isles Beach called Turnberry Ocean Club. A rendering, by architect Carlos Zapata, shows a tall glassy building with balconies on the ocean and bay side, sheer sides, and what look to be amenity levels with landscaped terraces and sky lobbies sliced into the building at four places.

Turnberry Ocean Club | 649 FT| 52 FL

Turnberry Ocean Club Coming Soon to Sunny Isles, Florida

Quote:
Jeffery Soffer said it's official: Turnberry Ocean Club is Turnberry Associates' latest luxury condominium to pop up in the Florida real estate market. The exclusive residential condominium tower located at 18501 Collins Avenue Sunny Isles, Florida will be priced from $3 million to $22 million and sales are expected to launch in fall of this year, said Soffer, CEO and Chairman of Turnberry Associates.

Turnberry Private Club Prestige; Above All Turnberry Ocean Club features 154 residences ranging from 2,750 to 10,000 square feet and rises 649 feet into the skyline with 52 residential floors highlighting the brand's private club prestige. At sea level, a resort-style infinity pool will cascade into the ocean while owners enjoy the private pool and beach cabanas. Its three-level private club set approximately 300' above sea level includes a Hammam spa, massage rooms, infinity edge pools, wine room, private dining, gym and fitness areas, relaxation room, locker rooms and library.

Something Florida, Something New Turnberry Ocean Club is the latest residential real estate project in the works for Turnberry Associates; established 50-years-ago and best known for its iconic brands including Miami Beach's landmark Fountainbleau resort. Soffer has been the influential and inspirational driving force behind Turnberry for the last 25 years and puts Turnberry Ocean Club "above all" as its tagline appropriately defines.

Towering above the shoreline and setting behind the Atlantic ocean, Soffer offers future Turnberry Ocean Club residents a coveted glimpse of what Turnberry is known for, a private club lifestyle.

"Turnberry's vision is committed to raising the bar in Sunny Isles and any other market we enter into the future," said to Dan Riordan, Turnberry Associates' president of residential development.

Hey if a mod could change the title to Turnberry Ocean Club | 649 FT| 52 FL.

The tower is officially 649 feet, not 550 ft.

The people over at Curbed have the height wrong lol.

Also, here is the official project website: http://www.turnberryoceanclub.com/

Sunny Isles Beach has got to be one of the 20 cities with the highest concentration of wealth in the world. Most of these towers, especially the most recent post-recession proposals, have been stunning pieces of architecture, basically sky art.

Its a great place to retire. Although most of the prices to buy condos along the beach start at around 700k or more on average. Although if you are willing to look, you can find some great deals below that price. It sure does beat New York real estate where you get a shack if you purchase a property and it could land you maybe a studio in Manhattan or a small 1-2 bedroom for 2-3x the price. But nevertheless, its just a matter of looking around. Although the next hotspot is going to be the Edgewater neighborhood. Even Miami beach is seeing a surge in property development. Coral Gables is also an area that is up and coming.

Florida is indeed a hotspot for wealth. Southern Florida that is. Tampa as well on the gulf coast of the state.

Sunny Isles Approves Turnberry’s 649-Foot Zapata Condo Tower
By exMiami Staff on August 7, 2014

Sunny Isles Beach commissioners voted last week to approve Jeffery Soffer and Turnberry’s plan to build a 52-story, 649-foot tall condo tower designed by architect Carlos Zapata.

A sales center for the project, to be called Turnberry Ocean Club, will open in September at the project site located at 18501 Collins Avenue.

The project will include 154 residential units, ranging in size from 2,750 to 10,000 square feet. Prices will start at $3 million, with the most expensive unit at $22 million

A three-level private club located at 300 feet above ground level will include a Hammam spa, massage rooms, infinity edge pools, wine room, private dining, gym and fitness areas, relaxation room, locker rooms and library. A separate pool will also be located at sea level.

Robert Swedroe is the architect of record.

More Than Two Dozen’ Condos Reserved At 154-Unit Turnberry Ocean Club

Quote:
Turnberry Associates has taken reservations on at least 24 of 154 condos at Turnbery Ocean Club since opening a sales office in October.

A representative of the developer told TRD that about two-thirds of the buyers are from South America or Europe. The executive expects to have 50 to 70 units reserved at groundbreaking in 2015.

The sales pace isn’t nearly as hot as some other projects in Sunny Isles in recent years, possibly due to a collapsing economy in Russia and weakness in Brazil. Buyers are being required to place a 10% deposit to reserve units, which range in price from $4 million to $32 million.

Architect Carlos Zapata is designing the 54-story tower, which will be located at 18501 Collins Avenue. Completion is scheduled for 2018.

A new luxury tower is planned for Sunny Isles Beach, a city known as a playground for the wealthy. The 54-story Turnberry Ocean Club will offer 154 units starting at $4 million with views of both the ocean and the bay. A three-story “SkyClub” starting on the waterfront building’s 30th floor will include amenities such as a private restaurant and a deck with an outdoor gym and two cantilevered, infinity pools jutting out over the water.
“We’re targeting high-net-worth individuals who will want to make a home with this project, not investors,” said Daniel Riordan, head of residential development for Turnberry Associates. “Because of their wealth, we see our buyers as being insulated from the market, which makes it a lower risk proposition for us.”
The project is located at 18501 Collins Avenue and will be completed in 2018

Stunning building. SIB is to the US as what Gold Coast/Surfer's Paradise is to Australia.

This next video focuses more on the exterior with elements of interior, where the one above focused mostly on the interior:

Jetting 54 stories into the heavens along prime beachfront in Sunny Isles, the Carlos Zapata/Robert Swedroe-designed high-rise masterpiece embodies the energy, architecture and opulence of Miami's current "it" status. A luxury skyscraper as impressive as its Collins Avenue address, the eye-catching Turnberry Ocean Club embraces the apex of Miami's modernity movement: an amalgamation of glass, steel and towering white pillars intersected by sleek protruding balconies on all sides—with a maximum of four units per floor—as well as a duo of cantilevered 30th-floor swimming pools and an al fresco fitness center overlooking the ocean.
