A very nice angle from "That Walking Guy" on Twitter. of Ottawa's "Icon" Almost looks like the renderings. When viewed up close, the value engineering is jarring.

Very beautiful. It’s like a sculpture / art installation. So many different angles and ways to experience it. Wasn’t sure how it would turn out but it hasn’t disappointed. Nothing else like it in the country.

It's an interesting building, here's a pic I took recently.

Cool! Wonder how weird the unit layouts are inside? Just noticed the random pocket balconies on the side. Odd there’s none for a bunch of floors in a row.

I like it when I look at it as a sculpture/art installation. It's beautiful in the details. But the form itself doesn't do anything for me.

NCC River House, a 1920s boat club, has been restored and opened to the public. The building features a restaurant and is home to the Ottawa Riverkeepers.

The restoration includes accessibility improvements and a new swimming area in the Ottawa River.

What a shame it is overpriced crap with shitty layouts. Not like the offshore buyer using it a couple times a year is really going to care I guess.

Really, it is emblematic of everything that went wrong with Vancouver's housing market over the last 15-20 years.

Wow can’t believe what that is selling for. Absolutely insane. That should be illegal.

And the building sucks. It’s ugly, looks cheep, and the Aesthetics are anxiety inducing. That hot mess around the piano… why a piano? The mirrored columns make it worse reflecting all the harsh angles from the concrete steps and the hanging “art work”. I could never be around this type of architecture daily It’s way to oppressive.

Wow that layout is terrible. Insane price point too. Vancouver still reigns supreme for inflated real estate it seems.

I'd guess it's essentially bitcoin and nobody looks at value for dollar (they're trying to park a certain amount of money). Buildings like this are often very quiet compared to normal apartment buildings/condos and whenever I've been there that part of town has been quieter than one might expect given how built up it is. If I had millions of dollars to spend on a condo it wouldn't be my first pick.

I see your Kengo Kuma and raise you the poorly executed Claridge Icon:
