If that's the case, one way DC could have statehood is if the land area was expanded to include a bit more of Northern VA and southern Maryland. Or just also Maryland to annex DC. The current proposal is to reduce the boundaries of the district of Columbia to be coterminous with the city of Washington, and to create a state from the non-city areas of the district.

The site of the King Records studio, where many of James Brown's hits were recorded in the 1960s, was in a decidedly nondescript part of town.

That's why I chuckle a little when you hear musicians or artists say they need to be in a certain city for inspiration.

James Brown invented soul/funk and recorded the music that backed dozens of rap songs in the 80s and 90s in this building, in a decidedly average part of Cincinnati:
