If Biden's Infrastructure proposal passes they should start building the rail line on that bridge ASAP.

It would be unfair to Mario Cuomo as he was a past governor, but I like the idea of renaming it after someone more relevant to the current generation.

for whoever might wish to support the renaming effort to memorialize the fallen Spring Valley Firefighter: Rename the TZ Bridge - The Firefighter Jared C. Lloyd Memorial Bridge

I dont understand this sentiment at all.

That being said they should have just left it the Tappan Zee. Plus it should have been a tunnel. With a rail line.

Former guy named it after his papa, a politician, who was in office during the 80s. Nobody dared to raise any objections because at the time he was the boss. And needless to say it's a one party state in New York. You disagree with the governor, you answer to the party (for obvious reasons this has only recently changed) That being said, the working class today who have to commute daily across this bridge have no memory of Mario Cuomo. Jared Floyd, a hero who died saving the elderly in a massive fire at an elderly care facility **3 months ago** in the county that this bridge connects to, is a much better subject for memorization than some governor from 4 decades ago who just so happens to be related to the one who gave the bridge its name. But that's all I'll say on that. The Senate will consider renaming the bridge to Tappan Zee. This other suggestion is merely a petition with a bit over 10,000 signatures.

I like just naming it what it everyone currently calls it, the Tappan Zee. No need to complicate things

Like a boss.

Coyotes get a bad rap but I think they're pretty cool.

Yeah, as long as there aren't any smaller domesticated animals around but to my understanding those are not allowed on the pedestrian path.

Mario Cuomo was a Great governor . .
a benevolent leader with high principles . .
A lot of folks didn’t like his son as much . .
But I thought he was a fairly Good governor also . .
The beautiful new bridge is well named . .
