That's true, but I hope for a redesign of the office component.

The other four I dig, though the tallest is probably my least-favourite of those 4 from a design perspective.
For once we disagree in taste
I actually like the look of the tallest proposed best and the chop-off of the corner adds something to look at in my opinion. Of this group of buildings, I find the ones with the slant half-way up the least attractive. I'm just not a fan of buildings that do something disjointed like that.

I would love to see that in the next ten years, and something significantly taller, not just 5-10m taller. Something in the 350-400m range.

Agree. When people wish for a super tall, most are really saying they're hoping for something significantly taller than we have today. 350-400m would do the trick. 310m isn't all that much taller than we have today.

I agree as well... look at the proposed M+G tower, it breaks 300 metres, but is only 998 feet tall!

Great news. Very welcome to me, as my favourite tower of the bunch here looks to be getting a height increase.

If the Oxford twins are being re-financed (and temporarily shelved) like the developer indicated Toronto's super tall count is now 5.

1. Oxford East 325m (On Hold)
2. Oxford West 325m (On Hold)
3. The One 319m (Proposed)
4. Mirvish-Gehry 304m (Approved)
5. One Yonge 303m (Proposed)

When Toronto started building super talls it was never just going to be 1 such building but a whole slew of them. The city is extremely pragmatic and only builds when the economic realities dictate it. Over the last 10 years building heights have steadily inched up with the latest tallest in the 250-280m range. Now we seem to have inched up again and breaching that 300m barrier.

400m+? We might have to wait another 20 years for one of those.

I don't understand the pessimistic tone that some of us take on here. After all we already have a 553m tall structure that would easily dwarf a 400m tall skyscraper. I mean it was the tallest freestanding structure on the planet for 34 years. That kind of endurance will likely never be seen again. On top of that we have what is arguably one of the top 10 skylines in the world(top 3 in NA) if not then almost assuredly one of the top 20 and that doesn't even factor in all the buildings u/c and proposed. Overall our skyline is punching well above its weight considering our population in comparison to other major cities and nations around the world. My point being in all of this is that we shouldn't be looking at our skyline as if it were deficient in some way.

1-7 Yonge St re-development (Pinnacle, 35s + 65s + 80s + 95s, Hariri Pontarini)

Public Notice
Lower Yonge Precinct Plan
& Pinnacle Proposal for 1 and 7 Yonge St.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING #3 - Date: Tuesday June 23, 2015

Time: Drop-in and View Displays 6:00 to 6:30p.m.,
Presentation and Facilitated Discussions 6:30 to 9:00p.m.

Location: Harbourfront Community Centre, 627 Queens Quay West (near Bathurst)

Waterfront Toronto and the City of Toronto are developing a precinct plan for the Lower Yonge planning area. We invite you to attend a public meeting to provide feedback on the development of this precinct plan. We have held two public meetings to date, the most recent was held in October 2013. At this public meeting, we will be providing an update on the emerging and refined direction for the precinct, an overview of the built form approach and plans on how to ensure the precinct will evolve into a complete community. Additionally, Pinnacle International will present a revised development proposal for 1 and 7 Yonge Street.

The Precinct Plan will establish design and development objectives, local street and block patterns, park and open space locations and built form controls. The Plan will also identify other mechanisms needed to ensure revitalization, inclusivity and high quality development in the Lower Yonge Precinct, such as affordable housing, community services and facilities and compatibility with existing uses. This planning exercise is an integral part of other studies in the Lower Yonge area, including Environmental Assessments for various local and regional transportation initiatives

The latest rendering sucks. If it's going to be an all-glass jenga stacked box design, they might as well not build it imho.

That's what I thought. I'm not sure how they will fit 95 stories into a building the same height as First Canadian Place which only has 72 stories. FCP is a office building so I know the floors are higher but even still.

standard floor heights of residential uses is 2.95 meters. 92 floors of residential would give you 271.4m, give 8 meters to mechanical and you have space for 4 6m high retail levels.
