?? Not sure what you mean by that? I have retired and moved to Prescott - my home is 2 1/2 the size of the home I lived in Redondo Beach. Beautiful neighborhood. Lovely neighbors. The couple on one side of me is originally from Germany - the lady on the other side is Dutch - that retired from San Diego. Looking out the front - the Bradshaw Mountains - the other side - Prescott and Thumb Butte, Granite Mountain, and the San Francisco Peaks. Is that what you mean by typecast? I am interested in coming to this website because I was born and raised in the Phoenix area - and have property down in the Valley. Some of you seem so contradictory. You seem so excited about development and growth in Phoenix (developers are not typically commies - Donald Trump is a developer)… but, on the other hand - you seem so hostile to these kind of people and you are espousing socialism. Regarding this coronavirus, like everyone else - who knows where this is all going. But, in my opinion - I'm feeling that possibly, we have taken
draconian measures that might not be necessary.

Wildcats, let me preface by saying I support every person's choice to have any opinion they want despite how wrong I may think it is. I won't tell you what to believe.

the "I love Trump, I hate commie California, I retired to Prescott" shtick is the least surprising thing you could have written after all these rants. It paints a picture, very clearly, of a 70 year old graying white male in a diesel truck in the most conservative part of Arizona. That's what I mean.

That said, I'm starting to become quite convinced your account is fake.

Wow. Well, I'm not quite 70 yet. I don't drive a truck - diesel, or otherwise. I do watch Fox News and - I am seeing how true when they say that the left is very intolerant. Is this attacking and vulgarity allowed on these sites? You are also very disrespectful to others older than you are. Is that how you were raised?

Just wanted to chime in - in regards to iheart. Poor example. They do enough to screw over their employees as it is and started mass layoffs months ago.

I've been staying out of this thread. It should not have existed to begin with and is detracting everyone from posting development news. This is no longer an economic discussion and has turned into a political bashing thread. The whole things needs to be deleted.

Nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Following in California's path. As predicted, the slow chipping away at the "Essential Businesses" list has begun.

Some sobering statistics just released John's Hopkins University.

Yesterday, the U.S. reported 1,169 deaths in one day—its highest daily toll to date.

New York, the worst-hit state, on Friday also saw its highest single increase in deaths since the outbreak started. A total of 562 in a 24 hour period. One death every 2.5 minutes in the Big Apple.

I can't believe haircuts were ever considered essential to begin with. I canceled all of my appointments for dentist, hair, etc.

And those numbers are pretty big.

They definitely aren't essential.

But I've held the belief that the general idea is to not 100% 'shut down' all business at once. California did something similar - it started VERY broad - and they chip away at it. The State keeps it vague INTENTIONALLY, imo.

Frankly, business owners that own non-essential businesses (and employees for that matter) can see the writing on the wall (myself included). This affords the potentially affected valuable time to get their affairs in order, to the best of their abilities given the situation.
