Back in the 1990s, "Jeopardy!" taped here. I don't know if it still does. Back then I tried out for it but didn't make it. I tried out for College Jeopardy! some years before that when they taped at what is now called Sunset Bronson Studios, and I didn't make it then either.

Photos taken over the weekend... Life is pretty much getting back to normal, after (during the tail end of?) COVID...

Saturday, 3.19.2022. An excursion into Hollywood, all by public transportation, which I haven't taken in LA since before the whole COVID mess.

"Our" Metro station in South Pasadena.

Very nice, Union Station is looking very good. You really have a good eye and I love seeing what you captured on your trips around LA. This city has so many faces and so much to offer, if a person can’t find something that appeal to them they are not looking hard enough. It’s definitely a city with many personalities.

Always wonderful stuff. I enjoyed seeing the Hollywood pics, especially. I lived there for 15 years and miss my neighborhood.

Thanks! I've always loved Hollywood. I worked there fresh out of college, for 9 years, from 1994 to 2003. I saw it all evolve, and it's still evolving.

Wow, you get all over the city and enjoy the hell out of it! Such a motivational thread. How do you decide which part of the city you want to go to on any given day where you are out and about? Are there any corners you haven't been to yet that you want to check out?

I totally enjoy the hell out of LA.

We hadn't been to the Brentwood Country Mart in a long time, so we decided to go over the weekend. My partner ended up buying a book at that bookstore there.

I guess there are some corners of LA we haven't been to yet, but I think we've seen most of LA. There are areas that we haven't been to in a long time, and sometimes visiting those areas can be like visiting them for the first time, because they've changed, and/or because, well, we haven't been there in a long time. And food being a great motivator for us, we're willing to drive to all different kinds of neighborhoods around LA County (and beyond) just to check out the restaurants.

You made it out to Playa del Rey! I was wondering when the last time you were out in my part of town was. Have you been down to El Segundo recently? If not, you could check out either Jame Enoteco (Jackson Kalb, head chef, is competing on Top Chef right now and doing really well!) for Italian, or Sausal for "California Rancho" cuisine. Hope you had a good time.

It seems it's been a while since we went to Playa del Rey. It's very laid back, and we had a nice walk.

We have not been to El Segundo for a while, thanks for mentioning those restaurants! We must check them out some time.

Next time you're in Playa, if you want a really locals experience, grab a well drink at the Harbor Room. I believe it has the honor of being the smallest bar in LA County. Throw some music on the jukebox as well... nothing more recent than 1980s on there... but there's some good stuff
