You gotta wonder what a Chicagoan from around 1900 would think of that? What would one from 1850 think of that? I have a feeling that the one from 1900 might be like "well yeah, I can see that", but the guy from 1850 would probably be shocked. Somewhere in between there Chicagoans got the idea that this city would be built on this scale.

Based on their social media, bKL is pretty vocal about their role as AoR on Vista. Are they really that involved?

Yeah sounds like their just riding that publicity machine. Pretty sure everyone knows Vista is Gang's design. Site I is definitely bKL's.

If I lived in that building I’d want easy access to the lakefront. I’d want to be able to get outside at river/lake level without changing elevators.

1900 still might be a bit early. The art deco craze started in the 1920's and the likes of the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building and other deco structures really inspired that grand ultra dense urban fantasy that took over the skyscraper cities. Both the 1850 and 1900 crowd would be in absolute awe of the Chicago today and what is currently being proposed.

Regardless, awesome job on animations!
The drawings posted by BVictor clearly outline the fact that there are balconies on the North end...

Anyway, that second screenshot you took there rgarri4... LORD OF THE RINGS VIBES big time!

Take a look at page one and tell me if you can find the difference between Rgarri and original!

Unless the design has changed.

For your viewing pleasure once again... balconies are on the North and East. I'm confused, and maybe you meant to say "aren't there balconies on the East too", but you made it sound like there weren't any there, or that's how I read it.

My guess would be that rgarri4 just hasn't had time to update his model to have the exact balconies on the East so he's going with what he has at his hands. Again, sorry if I just was misreading what you were saying.

I understand they are on north but the balconies running all the way up are on the left side and rgarri in his model has them on the right side!

I am only pointing it out cuz i know how accurate he tries to be at his craft.

Does this have any chance of being approved this year?

It actually looks to be 970+ feet since the line is drawn below the mechanical penthouse, such a nice looking building too

Precision is difficult with a low quality raster image, but scaling in AutoCAD, I got 971 feet.
