Has anyone checked the webcam lately. The interior crown has been complete for awhile, whats the hold up on the exterior panels? Hopefully, working on some cool lighting electric work but I havnt seen any workers up there lately.

Yeah, I'm pretty confident that I could see them testing out some lighting that lines the framing of the support structure there. Hoping my eyes weren't fooling me

Glass getting wrapped around the 47th floor. Not sure if the 48th is going to be glass or the crown panels will extend down there? It's kinda lookin like the top two floors are mechanical. I could be wrong. Either way, damn this one is taking forever to finish. Fingers crossed for a great lit top.

This building looks like someone took the tallest building in a small Midwestern city and stuck it in the middle of Chicago.

The proportions are all off, like that “Batman” building in Nashville or the one with the crown in Austin, both of which need to be about twice as tall to work.

Which is precisely why it works well in the location that it's in--it isn't the vertical focal point of the cityscape, so it needn't have a sense of ascendancy. I'm not apologizing for it, either; I quite like the tension between the curves of the paired ellipsoids and the sheared roofs. My preference, though, would be for the taller tower segment to have a flat roof so as to fully embrace the geometric simplicity.

If I didn't know the layout of the city, I'd have a tough time figuring out if it was in front of or behind NBC Tower.
