This news has my attention big time.
I'm excited to see this move forward. Living literally a couple hundred feet from that site, I need to figure out how to post pictures on here if possible, directly from my phone hahaha.

perhaps not looking forward to the extra traffic but it comes with development so there's no point in complaining about it haha

Just noticed that the sign for the condo site says Petretta on it, but they are not showing anything on their website yet.

Interesting. Petretta does some nice work. I remember when they were building the new TD office downtown. Turned out nice.

Thought you guys would get a kick out of this site I came across.

Never heard anything about this in the media and doubt it will ever happen, but looks like a cool building.

Listed on spotlight century 21 real estate

Proposed 50 story building. At first I had to make sure it was Windsor Ontario not England hahaha.

There's got to be some kind of mix up here because everything about this add (which I've seen myself online) sounds wrong, looks wrong, click bate material.
The location makes zero sense. There is no heritage building there. We don't have street cars like in the renders either lol

This seems new.... or did I miss the announcement back in November 2020 like that page states.
Check the attached high-rise to the project

Or am I just unaware of existing buildings downtown-ish

That's an older rendering for this building about to start construction in Toronto lol.

Definitely my first time seeing this proposal. It is the former main branch of the library on Ouellette that was sold a while ago, so nice to see them working on it’s redevelopment.

Looks like the tower that is included is on the corner of Ouellette where Mothers Pizza was, now owned by the downtown mission.

Would be nice to see that area fixed up, but I doubt anyone wants to be across the street from the mission until they finally move to a new location.

Wow That's an amazing repurposing of our old main library. Plus 2 towers from what I see in the video. Also, never heard of this Chinese firm.

I don’t think that the two towers shown have anything to do with this proposal. The one across the street is where they are showing a new downtown mission build.

Architecture firm Bairde AE has finally updated their website and has some interesting projects on the go.
Not much information but the drawings look promising

Where is this proposal located? By the looks of it, it will be along the lakefront somewhere. They really don’t give much info, do they?

I was wondering what was being proposed for that corner of Chatham St. and Janette, I had seen their sign there, but no other information. Looks interesting, from what I can see from the rendering.

This was one of the mystery projects I was talking about a while back. I was involved in some preliminary environmental work. Glad to see that a rendering for it has finally appeared.

Now that it's not entirely secret... is there any possible info you're able to divulge? Possible height/floor count?

I’m not able to provide any info, sorry.

I can't wait for the day we start to see some cranes going up in the Downtown area.

Although I would bet 90% of the proposed projects downtown will not take place, a person can still dream. Ha ha

I make a point of driving past the Farhi site constantly to see if there is even a truck on site. This is the one I would really love to see get started because it will change our skyline a bit.

The Chatham street one looks nice as well however I don't see that one becoming a reality.

Also guessing we will never see the Inspiration tower go up at Ouellette and Wyandotte as I have never heard anything else on it after the proposal.

But not all negative. I do think eventually we will see some change downtown, I just think it will take a while.

I have pretty good faith that a fair amount of these proposals will come to fruition, especially with the city’s economy really ramping up and the large increase in population that is happening. Things just take a while to go through all of the processes at city hall.
