Ok so lets just remember what the record for highest pumped concrete is and decide if that could influence the practicality if a 'revived design' @ 819m +

I agree with Aleks, And I think the future will be full of pre fab, glass and composite compound stuffs and thingo.

Yer you are right too, Given what i said about composite materials i guess anything is possible.

Could we just decide on a date of construction so that we all stay on par with each other in design? Say between 2013 - 2020 ?

So how many people do we have in so far? Ten? Even if just half of us make it to the end of the comp we will have a great showing.

Waaay too early. Maybe sometime in early-mid November?

Usually the comp is over by the time i have a chance to come back to the site, So i rushed my model,
Now i've withdrawn it twice cos i want to do more to it.
So can we please have a date and make it FINAL, please?

It's apparent now that the a long due date has nothing to do with lack of interest - Rather it is the uncertainty of the due date. IMO !

It's messing with my emotions

Exactly! Well said!

I'm going to do something for a big city. Tokyo, Rio, somewhere where the density is very high. I already have some drawing and all I need is to model it!

Could we also make it due on a Sunday please?

Good one Aleks,
It would be good to see some 'fact sheets/floorplans' from everyone too, given it has the stature of Worlds tallest.

Yey! its nice to finally feel the buzz and thrill of the competitions here! I guess I chose poorly when I won so the turnout was scarce. But thank God fordgtman chose such a wonderful category! I'm halfway through my supertall now... Working on something higher than the burj sure is a tedious and long process... And yeah, what about the deadline?

Tokyo, eh? Engineering nightmare!

Can't wait to see the entries in this one, but I don't think I'll compete... I was working on massings for about 1/2 hour last night but I couldn't find a good one.

I can't decide on were mine will go. It says "Any locations" so I might slap mine into a fictional location.

Awesome! That is perfect.

I have a technical question though. If I do put mine in a fictional city, can I possibly put some simple greyscale buildings around it so I have something to compare it's size to? I could also just do a height comparison with some existing buildings like the Sears tower just like the diagrams here on the site.

I have come to the conclusion that my model is so incredibly complex that it might cause my computer to burst into flames.
