the "single family homes only" signs along shaftesbury blvd. will age well into this category as well IMO.

The orange was a carry over from street cars. It had a nice history and was distinct.

Oh good. I don't have to drive to either St. Mary's Road or Sterling Lyon to get my Popeye's chicken fix now. Going from "chicken" to actual chicken.

I was surprised the Pemby was still up earlier today, but demolition takes time.

That whole strip is going full on hard now with development.

I miss the orange and cream livery.

I wish they bring back at least orange into the livery. The newer buses over the last 5 years are just coming out of New Flyer white now.

I mean, add more flair and pizzaz. Seriously.

They went white to save a few thousand dollars per bus.

Permit search says a KFC, which is weird because I think that 7/11 next door was a KFC not so long ago

The buses are the white colors scheme. But maintenance, supervisor vehicles, etc still have the orange scheme. Not totally orange, but have some orange. Just go back to a white bus with orange decals. The current white buses have that purple, blue etc decaling on them anyways.

Pembina Hotel, 1953-2022.

Somehow it felt older, it has probably been obsolete as a hotel since the 70s.

I'm sure pretty well any multi-family building going up within 1 km of single family houses has probably been accused of bringing about a traffic apocalypse.
The Keg was initially proposed for Waverly & McGillivary but a fuss was mad about the stank. I don't think much fuss was made for the current location. Only a km difference.

There are some pretty anonymous residential blocks behind the gas station at Fermor and Lag. They were supposed to be populated with creeps who'd turn Windsor Park into a dangerous area. As far as I know you can't even really walk into Windsor Park from those apartments without going well out of your way.

Same with the Lord Roberts infill along the BRT. There was one quote, something like, "this is the kind of neighbourhood where you can lean on your fence and talk to your neighbour!" So, the creeps living in apartments blocks away would come lean on your fence too? But not be your neighbour?

Funny thing about both cases is that neither neighbourhood was short on creeps anyway.

Work underway inside the former Wildwood Motorsports building. Anyone know what the plan is for this place?

I was chatting with the manager of Vic's the other day and they'll be moving to the new building in October. No word yet on what happens to the old building, though the concerns raised by Vic's (no upgrades in 50 years, leaky roof, disinterested landlord) doesn't make another tenant in the current building as is very likely.

Thats what we thought! Weird. And if I recall, the Subway/KFC building was built for Arby's originally. Man, I wish that was still there!
