You're completely right. Disregard. I don't know why I thought that's where Aldo was.

Yes, to a degree. The interesting piece here is that Costco almost always goes for the huge building in a sea of surface parking. It sounds like this is their first urban style format.

Retail Insider reports that Hudson's Bay is closing its store at Londonderry mall in Edmonton this summer. Will the St Vital Judson's Bay store close in the next 5 years?

Keep in mind that Zellers is taking some of the space in the St Vital Store.

I believe the Devereaux buildings are the ones closest to the IcePlex and the construction on the west side of the site is Shindico developed buildings similar to the ones currently going up on Taylor.

^ Speaking of, I went down Taylor the other day, I was impressed by the Shindico apartments. They are probably some of the highest end product going up in town. Solid construction, big suites, looks good. They are pretty suburban in character but it's Taylor Avenue so I wouldn't have expected much else. It's just too bad that such nice buildings are basically plunked down in a Walmart parking lot.

NOT Winnipeg related, but interesting article about a LA proposal for housing over a Costco in a very dense neighbourhood.

Both in Shindico properties if I am not mistaken. Be interesting to see what Shindico can find to fill the spaces

Seems that tenants for these types of big boxes are getting harder and harder to come by...
