That 'competition' was more of a public modern art exhibition than anything-- the participants each used the 5WTC site as a way to express their own thesis or statement through some kind of bold visual or metaphor. It looks like there are a few interesting actual designs in there, but the fact that the most widely highlighted ones include a hand-drawn daycare centre and a poorly photoshopped 1WTC and 432PA reflects what the point of the competition was.
I'm happy with this height and design, as one of the last pieces of a unified, coherent WTC. If each WTC tower had tried to outshine its siblings (2WTC included) it would make a mess of the whole thing.
