I meant what I said.

It’s probably because of the way that the light catches the angles, but the effect is there all the same.

Anyone have inside info on that proposed 44 story hotel/office tower for 590 W Madison (Madison/Washington and Jefferson)? The lot of land was sold to someone on 1/19 for $7M. First introduced sometime in 2014. Currently a surface parking lot that has a little bit of landscaping.

Are those sky blue stripes coming off? Because they look bad.

Below is one of my favorite modern renovations of a masonry building, in Italy, and this project could have taken a page out of its book with the simplicity approach and no glaring lines.

I agree. There's something very wonky about this cladding. I like both the green and blue independently, but together, looks kinda gross.

Wait so HKS, the global architecture firm, also owns the property here? How does that work?

The bay windows were rad. They were a fun, reductive take on a classic architectural feature. And they gave the design some distinction. Now it's just a glass box that they 'jazzed' up with an extra color, and it's hackneyed.

I think that glass looks worse in person than the photos. The pattern and colors are pretty bad.

Lol, no. They looked like some garbage rehashed design from 1983

There was a soil testing rig on the site just south of K2 this afternoon.

Regarding activity on site, there has been nothing since they repaved that parking lot last summer. I walk by multiple times a day nearly everyday and I've never seen a testing rig, surveyors, etc.

^ Glad that corner is finally occupied ever since the Costas restaurant burned down almost a decade back.

Hopefully they can get some Greek establishments leased in there. Greektown has had too many restaurants closing as of late...
