Ok, updated page 1, phew!!

I counted 13 new highrise developments in the past week and a half. Yeah, this is definitely a boom.

I typically stay away from the site over the weekend. But with this week... I had to check in tonight. And boy am I glad. The hits keep coming. This one is the goods and I'm guessing it has the best chance of getting built and quickly to boot.

I like how this tower preserves the south views from the existing hotel by "simply" lifting the bulk of the new tower up and above the hotel's view lines. Pretty sharp solution and a great way to add booking value to the rooms that face in this direction.

^haha maybe that's how we can tell the NIMBYs that new buildings won't be blocking their views

We better enjoy all this now because I'm guessing that after October 15 there will be a dearth of new proposals and renderings for awhile.

No NIMBYs around here. You have the Hilton to the north and the old Johnson Publishing to the south.

Very sexy... I'm going to have a lot of fun over the next few months at plan commission, and I'm going to do my best to shame those alderman on the commission who've helped to dumb down building in their ward by catering to NIMBY hackery.

I meant that we can design all future buildings to have their middle lifted so that NIMBYs can't argue their view being lost

I don't see that happening with 30-40 story buildings around.

Imagine the arms race to be on taller and taller stilts. This would be cloud city before long.

I really like the wrapping of the base of the tower with more intimately scaled row houses. I wouldn't mind seeing more towers take this approach.

I saw that on their site a long time ago. Pretty sure it's long dead and thank God that thing is a design mess.

Do you remember if the project labeled '2100' was also there long ago? I didn't remember 2020 being on there the last few times I checked, which is why I thought it was new.
