^ Just to be clear - I'm joking, of course. My best guess is that in all likelihood, we have two high-rise construction starts in LSE prior to 375 E. Wacker (the first being GEMS Upper School and the second being site O)......

Lol, look what you've done Sam...

In other news, I hear they are adding a spire to this to make it 1500' tall...

folks, please stop making off topic posts in this thread.

this thread is about 375 E wacker, not about which workers ride which rail lines to which part of downtown or any other off topic stuff.

Don't take it personally, there's just a lot of people on this forum who have been watching development for a long time and they know the timelines on which these types of projects operate. They just like to tease you for being a relative newbie because it's a bit preposturous to ask "when will they have a website" when anyone who's been watching knows the initial announcement was a semi-accidental leak. Once they have formally announced this project, then we will get an official name and website, but certainly not before then.

true, i definitely am a newbie to all of this . but i agree on the ridicules questions, even I know that the only answers to questions like "how tall will it be, or when will i be started" will only be answers by useless speculation.

Ohhh, I see. I will let you go on with your special persons club. It's not like this is a forum where new people can ask questions or anything. Un-bookmarking this crap.

Or do take it personally... He was just teasing, have some thicker skin. We get dozens of questions like that a week on these boards, he wasn't trying to single you out. After a few weeks of "so when is the Chicago Spire going to break ground" in the Spire thread people tend to snap at innocent questions around here. I know not everyone has time to do this, but reading the past 3 or 4 pages of this thread would fill you in on everything you need to know.

^ Yes. No malice intended. Just a bit of fun (even if just for me). Either we'll get some tips here from folks in the know, or we'll get an official announcement (one in which Magellan actually participates or makes itself), or we'll see some construction activity. Sometime this year - or my guess would be - more likely next.......

Saw that the other day, hard to believe that they would be already relocating utilities when they haven't even formally announced yet. They must have the design pretty far down the MEP/drawings road to start spending money on that. Can we relabel this to site prep? Or is that premature? It does say "Building C" on the permits...

It might be for GEMS phase 2 I can't remember their schedule but if they want to break ground before winter, time is short.

mistake

I think there is some kind of mistake here with the hight of 1,148 feet and the floor count of 89. For example New York 432 park ave will have 1397 feet with 89 floors count and as I see both projects none of them will have any additional roof extension, so it will be flat. How do they count the floors then, living space none living space? If someone can explain this to me , thanks.

Probably ceiling heights - 432 Park Ave. is a much higher-end property and probably has taller ceilings. Magellan is known for low ceiling heights, too, I think (see Aqua).
