Rare time I was a passenger and not the driver so I snapped a couple shots off the 101 of Mayo and down Scottsdale Rd.

Mayo (all 4 cranes gloriously still up!)

Scottsdale Rd: (one crane up)

Thanks for the photo! The mayo clinic west expansion tower will be six floors high (located to the right of the main mayo building in the photo).

Land banking is no longer more profitable than development.

Watching all the bankers cash in has been interesting. Some of the big players downtown are still sitting but I agree with you, the banking profits have been mostly realized.

Kierland Sky project - two ‘towers’ - 88ft and 56ft; office & retail. Hope to break ground for a 2023 completion:

https://azbigmedia.com/real-estate/c...and-submarket/

“ Kierland Sky is a redevelopment project that will replace an existing 100,000 square foot, Class C office building at 14635 N. Kierland Blvd., on the southeast corner of N. Kierland Blvd. and E. Marilyn Rd. In its place will be two, Class A office buildings totaling 504,000 square feet. The development in the Kierland submarket will also feature retail and restaurant space.”

It looks a little bland but might be one of those looks better in person than in the renderings type projects...

Hi all,

That’s that. Paradise Valley Mall is officially closed. But Chompies, JCPenney, Bath & Body Works will open for a little longer.

Excited to watch this part of Old Town transform along with the Triangle Building proposal: https://azbex.com/150m-mixed-use-pro...triangle-bldg/

Still can't believe they let the Nimby's kill SouthBridge 2 in that same area

The Triangle

https://www.orionprop.com/topfive/hi...ent-complex-2/

Update on the triangle building. 7 Stories, 190 multifamily units and 160 hotel rooms. Approved by City Council 6-1 so we may see this one get started here soon!

Just researching about the Scottsdale nimbys, and the YT channel “Scottsdale studios” who made a video about how the new council members betrayed them and their “no growth” initiative by approving this project...

A friend today told me someone is trying to build a high rise at Scottsdale and Bell - maybe the cracker jacks lot? Quite a bit of emptiness up there.

He went on to tell me how the neighborhood isn't going to allow it to happen and reminded me of the frank lloyd wright spire argument.

I generally don't find any of that terribly interesting, but relevant enough to share.

Edit: for clarity he lives in silver leaf, probably 10-12? Minutes away. Shouldn't be relevance to him either.

Silverleaf is the community of mega mansions in the McDowells in Scottsdale. This project is city of Phoenix - not even close. Good luck to them. They don’t have a standing in any of the hearings.

It's on the SWC, the 1+ acre hard corner shops building.

This 20 story was shot down a couple years ago, with the loudest voices coming from those who bought the penthouses in Optima Kierland, and even Optima themselves. Since then, Optima bought the land from DMB and is permitting a 10-story L-shaped tower on this site. Will be interesting if this one gets backlash too.

Is the hotel going in on that lot in the middle of the 3 buildings? Or is it along Hayden behind the parking garage?

BTW - I noticed a taller red tower crane from the 101 when looking at the Keirland area. Do we know what project this is for? Is it for the same project with the shorter crane?
