Its certainly arguable that the top of this tower is a little stubby and that original 1,011 ft height would have done wonders but I cannot express enough how wonderful the street presence of this building is.
The plaza in front of tower A helps greatly to keep this from feeling too imposing at the street level and the setbacks really are phenomenal from the ground. Would definitely recommend seeing this up close if you get the chance. Easily my favorite project of this mega development cycle
I just realized how the E-W perspective of One Chicago subtlety references the outline of the John Hancock. The discreteness of One Chicago's setbacks and roof height capture JHC's bulk, while its vertical fins contrast the diagonal braces. Distinct, yet familiar, leaving an impression to the viewer that the two are connected.
Lol if one wants to take the comparison further, then the shorter tower's "slab" appearance is a reference to Water Tower Place acting as a companion to JHC.

Interesting twin towers effect from the Notebaert Museum.
Ok that's awesome.

When is move in? The top part of the big tower still looks like it has construction lighting, but the lower section as well as the smaller building look done. I've seen a lot of tours happening but more recently a couple people with dogs in the dog run.
I was hoping to ride out my lease next door to an empty building but looks like everything's happening faster than I clocked
