Is that Checkers still open? I moved out of Francisville and up to Manayunk back in the fall.

On a side note, I don't know why that place bothered taking your order. It always seemed like the employees just spun a roulette wheel in the back and gave you whatever it landed on.

I don't condone such acts of violence, but I certainly feel where they're coming from with that

^ Aren’t the Temple fields across the street though? Seems like tons of green space.

You are correct. is it open to public use? Plus school green space is different than public greenspace.

The rumor was Govberg was moving to the former Under Armor spot at 16th and Walnut about a year ago when the Tenant Obtained signs showed up in the Windows... but it’s still in its current location in the middle of the 1500 Block.

Tiffany’s moved to the former Zara space - so their space is available also on the 1500 block. There’s a TON of vacancies so Rolex could go anywhere.

Ok thanks for clarifying and sharing the rumor. I looked at their website and it appeared that they were still operating in Philly by appointment only, but haven't been in that neighborhood since this past summer.

St. Joe’s and University of the Sciences propose merger

This could be interesting. I think this would be a good thing, and will help bolster the new combined schools reputation, the same way Thomas Jefferson merging with Philly U has started to bolster TJs reputation even more.

Honestly, this is brilliant.

Their strengths are in very different realms but both are very good in their own right. If anything, PCPS has the stronger academic programs, but its reputation would be bolstered by St Joe's more national reputation and media presence (vis a vis basketball).

I think its a win-win for sure.

I think they might even be on the same Trolley and/or Rail line. Maybe this would spur some development between the two.

I've always thought that the University of the Sciences should merge with the University of the Arts and form a real university.
