It's still under construction but I'd say it looks pretty close to the rendering.

My post wasn't meant to be a critique of the building. I think it's pretty close actually.

It always seemed to me that, tho balconies generally don't add to the architecture of a building, they add a different dimension to the street.
This time I think the balconies do add to the building. I love how they extend past the corner. When the railings are on it will be clearer.
I feel Arthouse almost hides it's balconies behind an end wall. This bothers me for some reason. Going after that clean line.
I visited a friend in Toronto and he had a balcony on the 21st floor. Looking up and down the street, and up and down dozens and dozens of people out on their balconies. Every building had large balconies and they were being used. It was like a scene from Star Trek. It was surreal at night.

I really like how this building looks, especially when you're in Rittenhouse Square. All of the other buildings seem tall around it but this really towers over the park. Also love how Arthaus turned out, I think both of them are great additions to our skyline.

You are correct it really does tower over its neighbors. Picture from today:

Great picture! Looking like it's pretty close to getting all of the glass up

They really played it safe with the facade. It just blends right in. If it wasn't so much taller than the other buildings you couldn't tell it apart.

This is how I feel. On one hand, I like that it blends in well. On the other hand, it came out extremely bland, especially for such a prominent size and massing imo, and for once I think it would look better shorter. Compared to Arthaus, it looks like an old office building and weirdly out of scale in the skyline. I hope if the crown comes out nice it will look more modern

^^^ To each, his own but I think it looks badass in the skyline.

I like the building, but Arthaus is the prettier of the 2 (IMO).

I don't find it out of scale though, and I think it looks awesome from all the skyline shots. But if that other proposed tower on 18th Street gets built, then they will compliment each other.

I don't like how it looks from the South St bridge which is where I'm often looking. Most other angles it looks fine, and I actually like the back of it a little more, but just imo

IRL, I think the banding looks wider slash more prominent than it is rendered in the proposal. Overall, looks less glassy and modern than I was expecting. Sorta like an 80s office building I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. TBH, I wasn't expecting a lot from SLC to begin with. All of their projects in Nashville and Atlanta are incredibly generic.

That being said, I think the height works well precisely because of where it is situated on the square (NW side). It's pretty much the closest lot on the square to the existing skyscraper canyon and being that it is on the western side, it doesn't create shadows or block any light. If this were at 18th & Locust, I'd probably feel pretty different about it. It would be overly imposing virtually anywhere else on the square.

I duuno. I think the fact that it looks a little bit like it's from an earlier era makes it fit in the square more than a modern glass tower. It has that aspect to it, just not the most modern take on it.

I think they nailed it.
