Saw a nice two bedroom on Norwood Rd on FB Marketplace going for $1300. The Arsenault apartments on Sherwood Rd $1500.

I like the angle this was taken at! it make's Charlottetown feel very built up, and dense. I go around there quite often.

You’d think with issues like this, Cornwall with all of its vacant land, would just be booming, and that doesn’t seem to be the case. At least not to the extending that other places seem to be booming.

Cornwall is booming.
All kinds of new apartments/condos and many new subdivisions. All developments fill as soon as they are completed. Cornwall has been the fastest-growing community in PEI over the last several years.

Does anyone hear where St. Louis Bar and Grill are going? As it is going in a building that is already up. I also heard that it may be the franchise owner running this one who runs the ones in Moncton.

Also, when is the building to be done that used to have Mike's restaurant in it? Any word as well when the new building for Tim's and Wendy's is to be built over in the Mall. parking lot. Any word on what is going to take place with the old pizza building by Boston Pizza?

I guess I was just expecting more of situation that is going on in East Royalty with multiple massive subdivisions at the same time. I haven’t seen evidence that this is what’s happening thus far.

I was told St Louis was going in Sears building as I work in there. Kind of a strange place for it. Also looks like that Mezza Lebanese place in Stratford will open very soon.

I see heavy equipment parked in the empty field on Towers Rd.
I know a second apartment complex was planned similar to the one that is presently there. May see some movement on this in the near future.

I actually have been living in Summerside for a few years now and a source told me today that there are no plans for a a new grocery store in summerside, but that there is a development planned that falls under that category (confusing I know). My source didn’t want to say too much , but I can promise they are a very reliable source.

I can confirm this. Centennial Honda will be relocating there. They said they had plans for their existing building, but wouldn’t say what. I wonder if a new to market brand may be introduced. Perhaps Mazda, Subaru or Volkswagen.

I know that Dollarama has been eyeing more locations on PEI. This could be it, but I can’t see it costing that much money to build one. I’d suggest a second Giant Tiger too, but there isn’t near enough population for that.

I can backup the CH too. I recently purchased a Honda there and they told me they are building a new dealership there.

Charlottetown's draft official plan looks up, rather than out

CBC NEWS PEI

The draft plan identifies two types of areas in the city, called nodes and corridors, where higher-density buildings would be allowed, up to six storeys in corridors and eight storeys in nodes......

Like I said before, if the NIMBYS in this city won't allow more people to live downtown, and that's only going to happen with higher development, then move the downtown. The idea of curbing sprawl is finally catching on, and this is a good start. Build up, and I think we'll see more developers interested in contributing now that the genie has been let out of the bottle. This is the only option to eliminate the housing shortage in this city. Onward and upward!!

As per APM:
We look forward to welcoming this all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant here to Royalty Crossing!

I love how they kept the "All you can eat" sign from the previous restaurant that occupied this space. Classy!!
