MINNEAPOLIS | Fire Station One | 246 FT | 22 Floors

Project occupying about 2/3rds of the block bound by Washington, Portland, 3rd St, and 5th Ave. Essentially consists of four interconnected buildings: a 22-floor apartment tower with ground floor retail, a 6-floor parking ramp, a 2-floor fire station, and a 6-floor apartment building that wraps the parking ramp on three sides and extends out over the fire station.

This project is pretty complicated financially, is it relies on a lot of different funding sources-- federal credits for the affordable housing, city TIF for the affordable housing, city capital for the fire station, as well as private capital of course. It's also going to be pretty complicated to build, as the new fire station needs to be operational before the old one at the other end of the site can be demolished. This project has not yet been approved, but the TIF approval is making its way through (http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/www/...msp-219649.pdf).

Nice. Can't believe how many apartments/condos are in the area between 35W and downtown.

Does this project have a better name now? I see the doc from January 2021 calls it 240 Portland, or “Portland and Washington mixed use”.
