For Christmas, the Panasonic Lumix G1, which is a new Micro Four Thirds (mirrorless interchangeable lens) system with excellent live view & a so-so electronic viewfinder.

Size was the primary consideration, for street photos especially, when I don't want to be lugging a lot of gear - somewhat smaller than the Olympus e-420, which to my knowledge is the smallest DSLR out there, and also better performance in most all conditions.

Biggest drawback is the current paucity of lenses for the standard - though with Leica, Olympus & Panny all on board, that should be changing soon...
Still have three weeks to exchange; meanwhile, I'm having fun with the trial.
