You guys...

The lot hasn't sold to anyone that's worth a damn to anyone's knowledge. It's all in the property records.

I'm a gonna blame everything on that meddling kid Crested Saguaro. Strange that he became such a wonder around here.

I have no recollection of what you speak of

A vacant lot that will likely remain vacant as it's too awkwardly shaped and small to develop.

It's small lot, but it's near the Phoenix Biomedical Campus and ASU Downtown. It could probably support a restaurant or retail use.

That lot has irritated me for many years, there was a gas station until about 1990 I don't remember exactly when they tore it down.

My guess is that it'll be a chick fil a.

[QUOTE=DowntownCosmo;9535532]Rendering for 601 N. Central Ave

I've accepted my fate. Things in downtown Phoenix are going to look boxy.

That being said, I don't hate it. I do like this angle.
The footprint of this thing would be massive.
Plenty of room down below for more retail. I like that.

I don’t hate it but it’s absolutely massive though. If we can get more retail downtown I am game but man this project is huge.

Thanks for posting that DowntownCosmo. I guess something is better than nothing. At least we get more density.

It kind of reminds me of Ryan and Adeline getting it on at ASU Residence Hall without a climax.

It looks completely opposite of what LG Development has done so far. Hopefully this isn’t the final rendering.

They literally have a 50x150' section kitty-corner to the rest of it. The parcel is not contiguous.

Why take up a whole block with this? Why not change it to be a half block and taller (I know money) it just seems like a waste of space

Thanks for posting that rendering, DowntownCosmo.

I don't have much to say about it good or bad, it's just kind of blah. Nice to see it and I hope it makes that "empty" lot go away finally.

If you look at the attachment for the Loopnet post, there are attachments showing plans for a hotel/ garage with retail on the ground floor.....

I missed the meeting, so not sure what was posted on Central Station. But they did submit 4 potholing permits this past Friday. So, they now have those and the demo permit issued on the 7th.

From what I was told by a worker onsite last week, this may confirm a possible groundbreaking around April to May. Fingers crossed!

Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) owns it. There's been a long running game between the owner of the corner and ABOR. The owner wants ABOR to overpay them, ABOR resists, vacant land endures.
