I was in there yesterday and picked up a few things. Some things reasonably priced, others wildly overpriced. They close next Saturday at 1:00 pm. I imagine prices will keep dropping until then to reduce stock. They were busy yesterday.

Something happened to Grey Owel. What?
But seems that it's a temporary issue or a very special issue

^ That's too bad. That said, the odds of a café succeeding in that spot will be much better once 300 Main is up and running.

Definitely. Hopefully 300 will spur on other developers to take on projects in the area too further increasing the viability of a business there (among countless other benefits). South main is ripe for some serious towers!

Maybe they need to decide whether they want to be a coffee place or a bar.

Maybe, but their bar is not elaborate... it's got a few great bottles for a few great drinks whether neat or cocktails (I was actually very impressed). I can't imagine that's a big loss for them if they were going to offer food and snacks anyway.

Maybe, if staffing/food is too difficult in the later hours, just hold off until 300 is almost done. Been the after work a couple times and it was never dead though.

The owners were syphoning too much money from the company to the point it went bankrupt. They guaranteed all their loans and liens with personal assets, which are now frozen, and from what I've heard the RCMP are getting involved and this will get ugly.

China has cut out Richardson from importing their Canola. NOT GOOD on the trade front!

China is attacking Canada wherever it can because of Hauwei. Canada held up it's end of the agreement with the US. I would hope the provide the same back to Canada when the time comes.

The only way this goes bad for Richardson is if China draws in Russia to provide canola products. However I'd suspect we'll see canola shipping from Richardson plants to China next winter.

A work around is Richardson selling their products to other Canadian producers who in turn ship to China.

Bottom line, China needs to feed it's people.

it's all political theatre. I mean, if you actually believe a lot of what the media and western govt's say about China, why risk so much political and economic goodwill to arrest a business executive? people talk about all these human rights abuses going on there, why not someone connected to those (supposed) abuses?

it's just an indirect way to punish canadian exports because the US is pissed about how nafta negotiations went.
