Yet the city awarded them this project per their bid proposal... I don't get it...

There should have been a stipulation requiring work to start within 2 years of award.

There is a rumor floating around that the Whole Foods currently on South St would be moving into one of the commercial spaces here when their lease is up which I believe is in the next couple of years. So I expect at least the build out of the commercial space for Whole Foods to be done.

I just like to present this new information and project. There's a lot more developers working on this project than just Goldenberg, something could happen soon. Like everyone, we have to take the time and wait and see what happens, multiple things are possible

SEPTA is coordinating with this project already for utility work, ROW encroachment, etc. Seems to have a far higher chance of happening than any other Goldenberg development right now.

Curious is this being built to help fill the hotel shortage by 2026?

Is Septa coordinating with the developer's team, specifically their engineering and design team because of the building's electrical, sewage, and water requirements?

Oh hell yeah - a recent announcement still lists Philly on the cities where developments are in progress, so game on

Nice! I like it even better than the original rendering. Goes well with the retro health center. Also says 542 feet

Is this that 500 foot tower you were talking about?

Oh wow, this is nice! Looks like it will have subtle curves at the corners along Broad to mimic the Health Center. This is really nice.

Isn't this where the new Whole Foods is supposed to go (moving from 10th and South)? I didn't see reference to Whole Foods in the brochure TK2001 linked, although maybe I missed it... (Hi, by the way! Longtime lurker, finally registered!)

Stunning and love the height! A little sad that this proposal is only for 1 tower instead of the original, which featured two. Although, the design and height are far superior. I hope it happens and they secure financing before things go south.

And seconding TK's question - Summers, is this the 500 footer you've been keeping from us?! Not to be greedy, but I hope there's another 500 footer you're keeping a secret.

Fantastic design, even better that it incorporates adaptive-reuse of a really cool mid-century modern building. A home run as far as I'm concerned.

I really hope this sees the light of day as designed.

Fantastic! Love the round glass too!

So is Whole Foods being incorporated into this?

I also wonder if a Virgin Hotel is in the works elsewhere since the company mentioned Philadelphia in their expansion plans?
