Me too. I'm sure they realize how badly a strike could come back and bite them on the ass

CFL Players’ Association votes to reject tentative CBA: report

The CFL Players’ Association has voted down the tentative collective bargaining agreement that was agreed upon by the league and union last week, according to TSN’s Dave Naylor.

According to sources, the tentative @CFL CBA has been voted-down by the membership. This, despite being approved by the bargaining committee and recommended by team player reps. It has been defeated. There is no CBA. #CFLPA #CFL

CFL players went on strike following the expiration of the previous CBA on Saturday, May 14, marking the first work stoppage in the CFL since 1974. They returned to work on Thursday, May 19 after a tentative agreement was made late the previous evening.

Though the tentative CBA was not posted publicly in its entirety, it reportedly included a substantial revenue sharing model between the league and the union, a change to the ratio allowing for up to three veteran Americans to rotate with Canadian starters, the reintroduction of padded practices, and the option for veterans to sign partially guaranteed contracts.

A number of players publicly voiced their concern that the union may vote against accepting the tentative agreement, including Montreal Alouettes’ linebacker Chris Ackie and B.C. Lions’ fullback David Mackie.

Is it me, or do players who’s names end in “ackie” that tend to express concerns over tentative CFL agreements?

Reports coming out both sides are burning the midnight oil to get a deal done. Reports are of cautious optimism that a deal will get done today. Fingers crossed.

I hope so. It's a great game.

Besides, we need someone to generate some money to pay for the white elephant we have here.

Here’s the CBA ratio adjustments:
Rolling ratio (Nationalized 🇺🇸 can play up to 49% of snaps): 2 in 2023.
@CFL
has the right to move it to 3 in 2024 if they believe it is working.
The 2 teams with the most # of 🇨🇦 snaps in any given season will be given an extra 2nd round pick

How on Earth does this work: 87-75? Somehow the league as a whole is playing above .500?

Apologies. I'm an idiot nitpicker some days and I am just happy they are playing.

I'd say it is Winnipeg for sure then maybe the Stampeders. Saskatchewan will suffer if they haven't sorted out at least half a player as a deep threat because they defenses are going to tee off on them. I think Edmonton is still a trainwreck this season. Calgary potentially finishes second in the West.

Usual, usual in the East for this year. Tossup between Ottawa and Montreal for last. Hard to see Ottawa being as inept as last season.

I was randomly making my numbers. I think alouettes wi have a tough season as they really lack team discipline. Bc its tough to say if the Canadian qb can get them into the playoffs or not

I don't really see why a Canadian QB would have any less chance of getting them to the playoffs. They would have more experience dealing with the size of field at least. I know we don't think the competition is as good up here, but I'd say given the number of apparently fantastic quarterbacks that have come up here and struggled I'd say it is worth a shot.

Oh he deserves the chance I am just saying the sample size we saw him play in last year was somewhat limited so its tough to gage how well he will do right now
