I fixed your photo embedding. Thanks for posting more London. Use the share button from the flickr stream and the BBCode option. It links back better.

Downtown west end of Moncton around the Avenir Centre Plaza. The building under construction in the background is the first of the Three Sisters. As you can probably guess, there will be three of them (15 storey towers).

Moncton is growing up!

Well, when you can only see the roof from several miles away through a telephoto lens, I can see how you might come to that conclusion.

While it’s no looker, that’s for sure, it’s typical of it’s size and budget - a 7006 seat arena for hockey (9,000 for concerts) completed in 2005 for only 40 million - I think nowadays you’d need to shell out 100 million for the same. Has a restaurant, box suites, the typical stuff. Inside shot from Venue Coalition:

Exterior shot from Victoria Buzz:

And one more:

Unfortunate long standing naming rights makes it look like a giant grocery store, lol - but what’s even funnier is how this building from the outside looks similar to the arena your Saint John Sea Dogs play in, the older 6,300 seat TD Station. Picture from Wikipedia:

Looking forward one day to new arenas in both cities.

Now back to skylines, and oldie but a goodie:

And one I took when visiting Saint John in 2018:

I had my first chance to attend an event, a Victoria Royals WHL game, at SOFMC back in March. It's an interesting building. It's a fairly large scale arena and it looks impressive from the outside, at first glance it almost looks like it could pass for a late 80s/early 90s NHL rink. But when you go in, it feels more like a small town kind of community rink, like a slightly bigger version of the Keystone Centre in Brandon. It's surprisingly basic in there. But it is appropriate for Victoria's needs.

As for TD Station, I've enjoyed the glamour shots on TSN of that facility and the Saint John skyline while the Memorial Cup has been going on.

/\The box suites are nice, but you're right - it's as if they forgot to add extra touches, in particular around the walls of the upper section.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a new arena in a decade or two in the western communities in Victoria. There is no political or even community support for arena/stadium facilities in the core, but there is where there are younger families.

Nothing a good pressure washing won't fix.

Looking at some arena's from google maps recently the last few months I noticed that most arena roofs look largely the same, gentle slope and almost always white which anyone with a white car knows is hard to keep clean.

I recently went to Cirque Du Soleil's OVO but didn't take notice of the roof, I'm going to Greta Van Fleet concert in August, slightly bigger arena but looking at the pic in the thread last page, it's again a white gently sloping roof as well.

Couple more London shots. Cant wait for Centro, and those buildings on 50 King by York Developments better get approved. If they’ll approve and break the height limit for someone as unreliable as Farhi then they better do the same for York, get those puppies built!
