Pwright1, nice shots! Here are some of my better Seattle pictures that I have stashed on my hard drive.
Following are various views of and looking out of the historic water tower in the Capitol Hill neighborhood:
When chunks of it aren't falling off, the Alaskan Way Viaduct can be pretty fun to drive on. Currently it is slated for removal and replacement with, most likely, a tunnel:
Bank of America, Federal Building, and Columbia Center (The black one); A Starbucks is located on round about the 46th floor of Columbia Center. The Columbia building was my favorite structure as a child and teenager, and continues to be today:
This is possibly the second most high volume Starbucks location for tourists, positioned strategically in the heart of the retail core. I usually avoid this Starbucks, opting instead to walk an extra two blocks toward the quieter coffee shops nearer to the financial district.
The building with a globe on top (which rotates, by the way) is home to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, a newspaper which stopped offering a print edition and now does all of its business online due to fiscal difficulties:
This foot bridge allows pedestrians to cross over the railroad tracks leading to the grainery from the waterfront park to the arterial on the other side of the rail lines.
HQ of Seattle's own cruise ship line; If you look very closely, you can make out the vague outline of a very bored security guard in a white shirt inside:
It almost looks like a lazy afternoon in Mayberry, doesn't it?
Bad photo quality, but it is a great quote carved into the north side of Benaroya Hall, where the Seattle Symphony performs:
