SEATING OPTIONS

Rogers Place will offer a wide variety of seating options for patrons and is uniquely designed for the Edmonton market. The 18,647-seat arena will have over 9,000 lower bowl seats to keep fans and spectators close to the action. There are numerous seating and entertainment options for every fan’s taste elevating service and value to the next level, including:

4,100 Club Access Seats
56 Suites
24 Mini-Suites
1,116 Loge Seats
The Loge area is a relatively new concept to the arena setting. Loge seating will allow groups of four to six to purchase a table that includes access to a premium buffet, beverage service throughout the game or event and access to a Loge Club located at the end of the arena. There will also be a number of other clubs and spaces for guests to enjoy throughout their visit.

AMENITIES

Rogers Place will feature a vast array of amenities that will make it the class of North American sports and entertainment.
They include:

Multiple clubs throughout arena
One full-service restaurant
Wide variety of food and beverage options on each level
15 escalators and 15 elevators inside the facility
Centre-hung Scoreboard will be the largest high-definition board in any arena in the world
Press box extends above the upper concourse
One concession point of sale for every 88 spectators
Bistro bars on main concourse with view of event floor
Retail locations throughout the arena
Home and Away NHL locker facilities, Home and Away WHL locker facilities, auxiliary locker facilities, officials’ locker facilities, performer dressing rooms
Venue administrative offices
Media interview room at event level

TECHNOLOGY

Rogers Place will be the most technologically enabled sport facility in all of North America when it opens its doors in 2016. Signing an unprecedented 13-year telecommunications sponsorship deal with the Oilers at the onset of the 2013-14 NHL season, Rogers Communications will leverage its extensive network and multiplatform content investments to enhance fans’ experiences throughout future games and events at Rogers Place.

The building will have extensive infrastructure to bring the latest and greatest technology to our customers and will be fully wired for high-speed WiFi. Your smart device will equip you with the necessary tools to find the shortest concession and washroom line-ups, access interactive apps for hockey fans or concert goers and boast overall better integration; Rogers Place will be a technological marvel.

Technology will also be at the heart of game and event presentation. The centre-hung scoreboard, broadcasting the action in super high-definition and on LED screens throughout the arena, will help deliver a vivid and engaging experience.

LOCATION

Rogers Place and the Edmonton Arena District will be the place to be in downtown Edmonton. It will be the premier destination for sports and entertainment with all of the restaurant and bar choices you could imagine. We will gather together to watch the best action in our city and around the world.

Rogers Place and its additional spaces will play a key role in attracting private development that will make up the arena district. Edmonton’s downtown core will start to see a welcome boost of restaurants, retail spaces and accommodations that will enliven and enrich the heart of our city.

While there’s no doubt Rogers Place will be the hub of the Arena District, there are four other integral components of the project: the community rink, Winter Garden, LRT connection, and pedestrian walkway.

Rogers Place is designed with the idea of accessibility at the forefront. Families will be able to enjoy an afternoon of skating or an evening of Grant MacEwan Griffins’ hockey at the community rink, along with the opportunity to take in Oilers and Oil Kings practices. Those who work downtown will have plenty of vibrant spaces to meet for lunch or take an indoor stroll with year-round access to the Winter Garden.

GETTING THERE

Rogers Place will be accessible to all patrons. Fully integrated in the downtown roadway and public transportation system, including the new MacEwan LRT stop on the north side of the facility, you’ll have plenty of commuting options to access Rogers Place. In fact, there are seven LRT stops within walking distance upon Valley Line completion. There are also more than 11,800 parking spots within a 10 minute walk.

Rogers Place has been designed with barrier-free access at all entrances and will be well served by a designated barrier-free drop-off on 104 Ave. The LRT and ETS buses including DATS will also provide full access to the arena.

The District parking plan remains under development, but parking access for barrier-free patrons will be provided.

GREEN INITIATIVES

Rogers Place will not only host world-class sports and entertainment, but will also be best in class in the entire NHL from a sustainability perspective.

Rogers Place will be the first LEED Silver-certified NHL Facility in Canada

The arena achieves LEED goals for Development Density, Community Connectivity and Alternative Transportation

City of Edmonton is committed to building a green city and has mandated that all new buildings, which includes Rogers Place, must be LEED Silver at a minimum

Oilers are members of Green Sports Alliance, a non-profit organization with a mission to help sports teams, venues and leagues enhance their environmental performance

Critical Mass: Edmonton’s pre-arena downtown revitalization

Edmonton was told a half-billion dollar arena would save its downtown. So why is the core revitalizing before it’s even up?

Great article, glad to see the renaissance in downtown Edmonton. The new arena and the district that will pop up around it will definitely add to the new flavour of downtown.

I hate to see the current casino building go. Other than that, fantastic project. Any news on what will happen to Rexall Place? I hope it stays.

Tower 2 just announced, kitty corner to Tower 1 likely and just south of the arena... design to follow.

Likely not quite, but you never know...

Stantec announces lease agreement with EAD Joint Venture
Global design firm to consolidate headquarters in the Edmonton Arena District

Stantec has announced the signing of a major lease for their global headquarters with Katz Group and WAM Development Group through an affiliate of the EAD Joint Venture. The new building will be situated within the Edmonton Arena District.

The new tower will consolidate Stantec’s five locations in Edmonton to one, and is a true commitment to the city’s downtown.

“This agreement represents our commitment to the community of Edmonton and the downtown redevelopment,” said Bob Gomes, president and CEO of Stantec. “Our decision is the result of an intensive selection process over the last year, and we are looking forward to moving ahead with design and construction.”

Preliminary designs are underway and further information on the project will be available at a press conference to be held at the end of August 2014.
