Do South Asians have a strong cultural preference for home ownership?

In California it does seem Sikhs are much more working class than Hindus who tend to be upper middle class professionals. Communities in the Central Valley for instance.

Anything for Asian and African growth for Columbus..or a link to where I can find the info? I know we have gotten Nepalese/Bhutanese and some more Somalians I believe.
Interesting how Columbus has had higher numerical growth in blacks than in whites. about a 10,000 difference. I wonder if they are coming from NE Ohio or from out of state?

Manhattan is stereotyped as white and wealthy, but the overall racial and economic demographics are reflective of the metro, and there are large tracts of subsidized housing in even the wealthiest neighborhoods. There are housing projects on the Upper East Side.

Downtown LA residential population was 52% white in 2013. I'm sure it's passed 60% or 65% in the past 6 years.
There's only certain sections that feel Mexican and streets like Broadway are changing dramatically.

I'm not talking about residential population, obviously. Residential population has little to do with a downtown core's overall usage.

LA's downtown has tons of Asians and Latinos, as they work and/or shop there.

Shopping I give you, but that's it.
I go there all the time and see a solid mix more than anything.

Interesting that Chinese growth is adhering to traditionally populous Chinese areas, whereas Vietnamese, Korean, and Other are shifting towards areas where you would not expect to find many Asians, like DFW and Houston (although Houston has always had a significant Vietnamese population, the trend is continuing, and now outpacing LA and SF) .

interesting to note that korean immigration to atlanta has slowed, but has increased from other countries. (china, vietnam especially) also interesting that we're surpassing some more established areas like chicago/boston/dc.

I’m surprised that the data for the different Asian demographics don’t include any Florida metro. I know Miami virtually no Asian community, but doesn’t Orlando and possibly the Tampa Bay Area have a good sized Filipino population? I know a bunch of friends from those areas. Florida may not be as rich or prosperous as NY or CA, but the weather there is almost the same as the humid weather of Southeast Asia. Thus, a lot of Thai, Filipino, Vietnamese, and Indonesians would feel just as home there as the large Caribbean population does right now.

Miami's Asian communities seem to be spread out with no center.
Orlando does seem to have a visible Vietnamese population with many restaurants & shops in the ViMi (Virginia-Mills) district northeast of downtown.
