5/15 from ShadowSoarer on DYes:

The glass is a much darker blue than I thought it would be from the renderings. Looks good.

Agreed. I like the look of it - much better than the renderings. And while it does seem to have a greenish tint, I'm glad it's not quite as green as the Ernst & Young (One Kennedy Square) building. At least, it doesn't appear that way yet.

A few shots I took yesterday:

Window installation has begun on the concrete sections of the facade. This is the alley side taken from Grand Circus Park.

Thank you for the updates! Can someone remind me / explain to me what the function of these are? Are they purely decorative? Do they let in screened light? Ventilation? I think they look neat, just wondering what they are for...

Purely decorative. They allow fresh air and light within floors 2-11 which are only parking.

Crazy that we’re building spaces that have more room for cars than humans. Our auto centric lives are somewhat depressing to me if I let that feeling creep in.

Thanks for the reminder rendering; I forgot that so much of it was parking (because those finishes look so nice). Knowing that, it makes a lot more sense that they would design for fresh air to move through the parking levels.

At least it looks like the dedicated parking levels all have flat floors, instead of sloped. Maybe this was done with the optimistic intention that those floors could potentially be converted over to occupied space. The floor-to-floor height of the parking levels also looks similar to the floor-to-floor height of the commercial office levels, further leading me to believe that these levels could conceivably be finished with drop ceilings, raised floors, etc. and still be at an acceptable height for office use.

They plan to open up the parking for game days. It's covered in glass so whatever, not different than all the parking podiums Chicago builds.

Thanks for all the updates, animatedmartian!

I really like how Huntington fits in with its neighbors. Now we need to get some similarly sized buildings built across the street.
