^ Wow! I stand corrected. Looks like it was taken exactly where I was thinking. A peak in South San Jose. He even says it was taken with clear atmosphere due to recent rains. I’m going to guess Santa Teresa County Park. Maybe I’ll take a hike up there and see if I can capture it myself sometime.

A mini-skyline of the Old Fourth Ward on the east side:

With Midtown in the background:

More of these nodes are popping up around Atlanta's core with their own mini skylines.

^^^^ I wouldn't call these skylines, especially when compared what Canadian cities are doing at the same time.

Terrible quality image, but literally the only one I could find anywhere that shows the skylines of Brazzaville, Congo (foreground) and Kinshasa, DRC (background) in one shot. Probably the only two national capitols you can get in the same photo.

that's true in a practical sense.

however, because vatican city is technically considered a "separate nation", and wholly within the city of Rome, they would be the two closest "national capitols".

other really close national capitols: vienna and bratislava are only 35 miles apart, but probably not capturable in a single shot (not from space or whatever).

Your photo URL is broken, but I think I found the same photo.

Fun factoid: The world's largest French-speaking city is Kinshasa, not Paris (even by metro area).

agreed. but curious, how many of those nodes are mixed use? i assume they are most if not all condos/apartments, outside of the yonge corridor in toronto, not that the distinction matters of course.

It seems that Doha and Manama are about 80 miles apart as the crow flies. Given they both have ~300m towers, it seems like they should (barely) be within light of sight of each other

Perhaps you can see Bratislava from Vienna and vis versa, on a clear day if high enough. The Vienna Hills or tall building.

Toronto is the King of secondary skylines in North America.

These are mixed-use, with many trendy companies moving into these office spaces. The Old Fourth Ward will continue to keep building up while near West Midtown, Microsoft purchased 90 acres of land for around $300 million and will be building their own mixed-use and basically their east coast headquarters. https://news.microsoft.com/Microsoft-Atlanta/

I do agree, but I feel Vancouver is a close second place contender, especially given the fact Vancouver is working with only 2/5 of the population.

What is third place is a much more difficult question…

Oh that’s quite easy actually (to me): South Florida.

I think he just means that clusters of buildings really shouldn't be considered skylines. I doubt he was bashing Atlanta or undermining them. The thread title also suggests it's talking specifically about something that appears to be a skyline. Even citing the companies or industries within it isn't enough.
