Overcast. Light rain. Sssooo much litter around I'm filling 1/4 of a garbage bag just picking up stuff in front of my tiny house once a week, none of it mine, obviously.



My salvation from bagging each year's knotweed has arrived lol Also, shopping Canadian Tire online is easy compared to venturing inside their claustrophobic physical locations. Can't remember the last time they had something Home Depot didn't. It's probably been decades.



It's bigger than I thought...



Now I just have to wait for the rain to stop to use it...



Let the neighbours know if they've got anything that can be mulched, just toss it over the fence and save themselves a trip to Gaze downtown or out to some garden centre for the lawn waste bags

I think my neighbour has a silver maple. At least this is what was suggested on this very forum a while back. Does yours produce tons and tons of red blooms every spring? His does, and it’s a pain to clean those up after they fall off. Probably one of the most inconvenient deciduous tree I had to deal with.

I tried to capture it with my phone while zooming in, so it doesn’t look great, and the leaves are just starting to come out.

The long range looks bleak. There's a typical onshore blocking pattern setting up for the next 10+ days. Looking like a solid 2 weeks of cloud, RDF, and slightly below seasonal temperatures. Monday May 6th looks like a possible reprieve, but the American model has us falling right back into the same onshore flow the next day.

We've been relatively lucky this spring, the weather has been decent so far, so this is sort of overdue.

BTW, you never responded to my FB message asking if I could use knotweed mulch everywhere or would it spread it. Hot Acadian guy in the group chat had to answer for you. Slacker. If it's dry/drowned, should be fine. So I wait until spring to mulch shit that died the previous fall - should be fine.

I’ve had to deal with a lot of invasive crap in my yard. Mint was one, and now I’m discovering that some sort of bright green vine that I transferred from a Costco hanging pot last fall has already started to take over my garden and it’s even growing on the lawn. I don’t think knotweed is something I have noticed here before though. Maybe I just didn’t pay attention.

It's everywhere here. It even comes up through asphalt driveways. You basically have to dig down to bedrock, and leave that bedrock exposed for a couple generations, and MAYBE your grandchildren will be able to get rid of it.

It actually got up to 18C in Moncton this afternoon. Calm, sunny and very pleasant

18C and mainly cloudy. Some breaks in the clouds as well.

Low of 9C this morning. There was a pretty decent thunderstorm at around 5AM that woke me up. Not sure if it was pouring or not but the lighting show was impressive.

The warmspot was Windsor, ON at 25.7C.

Warmest low were Hamilton and Harrow, ON at 15.4C. We will see if it holds tomorrow. Mark to beat is 12.7C from yesterday (Harrow, ON).
