The podium is now topped out on this one. They are pouring the roof for it.

Has anyone heard of approximately when we can expect this project to be topped out?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the first 12 floors are for parking, which consists of a lot of concrete which is why it took so long.

There's about 53 floors left to go. Considering how massive and wide this building it compared to others, maybe we will see 2 floors every 3 weeks? (53 floors /2 floors=26.5. 26.5*3 weeks = 79.5 weeks) So considering all that... as well as workers putting up glass at the same time, we might see this topped out by Sept/Oct 2022?

But if there's a real estimated date out there then don't mind my estimation haha

From Lincoln, a short but awesome video of the first office level is being poured.

Wait a minute; is that 13 floors of parking garage? And I thought going up 6-7 was bad! Hope it has shortcuts than having to wind up and down the Brack garage.

Look at the glass. It's a like a black mirror. This thing is going to be wicked cool. I'm glad it's dark.

I like that glass a lot. A good way to add interest/life to the parking levels. Kind of maybe mitigate that 13 floor dead zone feeling for folks on the street.

You might be correct. But, if I'm not mistaken, the tower portion will take up about half of the parking podium. I thought I heard somewhere that there will be ~35,000 SF of outdoor space on top of the podium and the building's floor plates start around 35,000 and narrow down to about 30,000 as it rises. So, the tower, itself, is going to be of average size for Austin (with regard to floor plates).

Yes, that is accurate, according to the drawings we've seen.

Four FAA filings - one for each corner - for a building that is 883' were filed. The coordinates show up on this block on Google Maps. Here's one of the filings:

This means nothing significant, right?

It's mostly just weird. The building already went through the FAA approval process for the height we all know about. I don't know why it would be going through for a second time for a taller height. I checked the City permit history, and there were no site plan changes for height.

Unless they got the address wrong and something's happening with the post office block.

Ha. That's what I first thought. The height implied a new project, and the primitive map on FAA filing made me think think it was the PO block. But the GPS coordinates brought me down to earth. Maybe the 35' increase is for a mechanical feature or giant Facebook letters or logo.

I wonder how they enter in the coordinates. If it's by entering them, then it's less likely to be a typo, and I would expect any typo of coordinates to be off enough to make the location off wildly. However, if they're typing in the address somewhere and grabbing the coordinates and entered a wrong address say, 601 Guadalupe instead of 600 Guadalupe, it would still give them coordinates to enter, and there's it's a good expectation that they wouldn't doublecheck the coordinates. So maybe?

The "prior study" (2017-ASW-13848-OE) ties back to one of the early FAA files for 6XGuadalupe (600 Guadalupe Street). Maybe this has actually increased in height?!? Taller mechanical? Some sort of antenna? Two additional occupied levels?

Quite intriguing, regardless.

Is G. Blume out there - somewhere?

Maybe they decided to add a few more floors to compete with 98 Red River. It must suck to propose and start construction on the tallest building in the city, only to be outclassed by a supertall shortly after.
