The downtown lighting from far away tonight on the hilltop of intersection of Slaughter Creek and Interstate 35 with the interstate itself almost creating a bright white streak into the distance and curving underneath the skyline like a signature mark with this building as the pinnacle made Austin seem almost Hunger Games-esque.
So me and Kevinfromtexas were walking around DT lastnight we noticed a very interesting thing when looking up at it and the sky above with some clouds. The lightning produces a really cool reflection. We took pictures of it. One of us will post (still having difficulty uploading)

6xGuadalupe is like the ugly girl at the bar: she looks good when you’re drunk in the dark and you’d still rather look up at the clouds than directly at her.

This building seems to be leasing up pretty well, all things considered. That is if I'm reading the website correctly.
I plan to take a tour with my son soon.
I am curious if they sold the 3 penthouse units to be combined into 1, or if they leased it. I know who is moving into it, but not sure if divulging that info is considered "doxing", though I'm sure everyone will know soon enough. Tax records show it is still owned by developer as 2 parcels.
With all the rain we've had recently I never saw water coming down out of those scuppers so they either fixed the problem or it's the other theory.
That one being that during some sort of fire system testing water was flushed out from places that normally wouldn't be drained to the exterior so there isn't an actual design flaw.
Anyone care to speculate when all the shit stains will be removed? Walked down there a couple weeks ago and still saw shit stains running down the glass.

I've been downtown 3 times in the last week. They have removed the stains as far as I can tell. Maybe some extra scrubbing in a couple of spots but overall looks so much better.

So, basically, those glass panes were ruined by whatever was in the water. Is it normal for skyscrapers to dump the water they accumulate out onto the outside of the building, like that?
It’s preferred to not dump all of your runoff onto your own buildings front glass but it’s also a matter of debate for the designer if they want to have drainage lines running back to ground level that will be seen and easily accessible, which is why they usually just dump straight off the rooftops but I think the bigger problem was that they put construction materials down those same drains which sounds more like a lazy mistake from the builder
Has Meta secured a tenant/s for their sublease in the office portion of this building yet? I wonder if the reason the windows have been left in filth is due to the offices being unoccupied.
Worse case scenario would be if the stains are actually etched into the glass. Hard water stains, which are high in alkaline, are extremely hard to clean the longer it's left on a glass surface, and these were left on way too long.
They let that sit there forever. The rest of the building has yet to be cleaned and there are still plywood walls at the bottom that need to be replaced.
