Speaking about X Phase 2, I had mentioned previously that X Phase 2 was raised to 370' according to it's Fact Finding. I just received my records request for the Phase 2 PAPP and it's been knocked back down to 325'. Also of interest is that the PAPP mentions "Phase 1B" which seems to focus on the ground level and parking levels with no renderings of the tower portion.

So phase 2 may may itself be coming to us in 2 phases.

Disappointed in the height reduction thought phase 2 would look awesome but nice height anyway

Its 25-stories and 325', which is taller than Link 2 and Palmtower, and only 25' shorter than Link 1. I saw the renderings and looks a lot better than Phase 1 in my opinion, but don't have copies to post. They are aiming for a March groundbreaking and I think the phases are just for construction permitting.

Where did you see the renderings? According to the records department, none for the tower have been submitted yet. The street level renderings I received look vastly different than previous renderings we have seen with a large valet off Van Buren. They are dated Oct. 15th.

Do I need to contact Shepley Bullfinch?

Sounds like the correct ones, I will see what I can do. The large drop-off was added on Van Buren, that's the part I think adds a lot to the project. I know they were submitted for PSP approval, but not sure the City releases them until approval is granted, but could be wrong.

It wasnt too long ago we couldn't get buildings over 20 floors, now we are getting buildings up to 30 and even a 50 floor.

Stop being so spoiled

Link never posts renderings, they just build. It’s really odd, but hell, atleast they move quick!

Haven't posted before and just started following, but is the My Community Map from Phoenix generally pretty indicative of future projects? I saw there was a time extension for the Central Park project at Indian School & Central back on 11/9. Just wondering if there was still some potential for that development in the future.

TSMC Progress

TSMC is going vertical. View as seen from the L303 this morning.
From what I understand - the red crane is one of only a few in the entire world (was it two?).

It is a Manitowoc 31000 crawler crane. It's manufactured in the good 'ole USA and yes, it listed as one of the largest mobile cranes in the world. Pretty cool crane.

Federal, Phoenix leaders mark full funding for light rail extension

I know this mostly belongs in the Transportation thread, but Mayor Gallego did drop this little teaser/nugget in the press conference. Interesting.

Quote:
The new extension ends at the shuttered Metrocenter Mall, which Smith called “one of the most exciting and unique redevelopment and repurposing efforts in the country.”

Phoenix officials have called the redevelopment of Metrocenter a priority for years, and the mall has gone through several iterations of plans that have not come to fruition. However, at the signing event Friday, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego teased an upcoming announcement about the future of Metrocenter and a “major investment” in the mall, but did not go into further detail.

Maybe they will propose a similar redevelopment like PV Mall with residential and mixed-uses or a corporate park. That would be cool to see.

The new owners already teased something proposed like Christown/ PV Mall. I believe they already submitted a PAD with the city...the Walmart was the "first phase" so maybe they are ready to announce the next phase. I thought there were garden apartments in the works for one of the outer parcels...
