More drone videos uploaded yesterday. this one shows just how massive the ground floor will feel with no walls breaking up the interior space.

160 Front West | 239.87m | 46s | Cadillac Fairview | AS + GG l u/c

One of the 4 “mouths” (inlets) being formed. These terraces are a kinda nutty feature of this gorgeous office building… but I like the irreverance.

2 mouths/terraces on the west and east elevations:

The taller of the 2 towers (@ 70 storeys) is now topped out and completed.

Lots of progress on Sugar Wharf Phase 2 site-prep and demolition (tallest @ 299 metres).

An interesting post over on Urbantoronto explaining how the second tower for CIBC Square is being cantilevered as to avoid the rail corridor and subway.

The structural engineering was modeled after 150 Riverside in Chicago. It uses a similar cantilever system.

I can't wait for that entire area to be done and landscaped and start to feel lived in. For me the with CIBC Square I can't wait most for the rail deck park to be completed creating another connection from the core to the waterfront.

Exactly because with the infrastructure alone, it is like this city is quickly becoming similar to Chicago or New York

I agree. It'll be nice seeing this area filled out further visually. This, combined with 160 Front and what's been going on down the street (southcore) for years now, is making it so Union Station is really becoming the centre of present downtown, rather than the periphery of the historic core.
The new PATH connections going on alongside Union station's rnovations are really going to help make this area feel well connected.

It's crazy to think at the start of the boom this area was a sea of parking lots.

Biff, thanks for sharing that "The structural engineering was modeled after 150 Riverside in Chicago. It uses a similar cantilever system."

It looks almost the same structurally.

The glass is top-notch and the white lines are an elegant touch, but the massing is rotund and the VHS slots are ill-judged.
