In that second to last shot, the way that the Hilton reflects against the glass and the angles line up with the convention center, it almost looks like the right-most volume is not even there above the podium.

Wow... this building is stunning. I love love love the color and shape. What an incredible and creative use of what is an otherwise awkwardly shaped lot.

This turned out way better than I expected and I'm so glad it covered up that hideous Embassy Suites from Discovery Green.

I really like this building. And those multiple rooftop outdoor spaces!

Barricades are down around the exterior of the building. It's getting a lot of attention due to the wrap on the facade facing Discovery Green ahead of the CFP Championship.

This building is so great. But what's up with Discovery Green? Does it get cold enough in Houston to kill the grass in the winter, or are they re-doing the main lawn?

The next buildings tied to Discovery West may be coming sooner than expected.

An account from hindesky on HAIF - emphasis mine.

Quote:
So I was headed south on La Branch St in downtown and looked west down Lamar St. and see Aztec Rentals setting up tents and a bunch of other things on Lamar St. so I turned left on Dallas ST and parked. I had it in my mind that Skanska was doing the grand Opening so I got out. Saw a guy in a Skanska hardhat and talked with him to see if they were having the grand opening. He said no, that was for the Chevron Marathon ( duh, I should have realized that, but in my excitement I had forgotten about it). He said Skanska will probably have the grand opening in mid February. I then asked him if they were going to start on the Montrose project and he said they are working on the other two blocks behind this. He said it will be a hotel with retail and the other block would be apartments. I asked about the Montrose project again and he then said he was with JLL not Skanska. Here is what I saw after I realized it was for the Marathon. This section is the finish line.
