Ah thx. SSP has this super nice search tool but a lot of the data is a bit sketch.

That is weird, I thought 150 N. Riverside is 752ft? It certainly appears a little taller than Riverpoint at 732ft.

Yeah that height for 150 N. Riverside is wrong on CTBUH so is the height listed in SSP diagrams. That's the height before they decided to add a floor or two midway through construction. I actually asked for the height figure on the SSP diagram to be changed once but nobody would change it without me finding an authoritative source and I didn't have time to search. The forum thread has it listed at the correct height.

By all means, my "problem" rather than a legitimate opinion.
I love the building from some angles but think it looks dead from others (which your last photo again does not show--you continue to focus on upward sweep of the full building which is very graceful as I have always said).
Buildings I like since the 80s include the T--- Tower (can't force myself to write that name), the Legacy, Pru 2, Nema, Aqua... are any of them flawless? Of course not. Only the Chase building is. Anyone who disagrees should seek psychiatric help.

^^^ you had specified office towers but I just listed buildings I like since 1980. I think the Chase from many angles is terrific but from my apartment I just happen to stare into the façade of the upper 30 floors from a dead-on western vantagepoint and lament why they couldn't have made it as beautiful as the southern and northern angles. Yeah, let's agree to disagree.

Interesting - nice spot. It's been a proposal for years but there hasn't been any concrete news on construction in a long time. The city gave Tishman until Septmeber to start building I believe or 'go back to square one.' See my previous post. https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/sho...&postcount=561

Ha, yea honestly that would be pretty sweet location for a high end hotel + condos. Would love a little more residential in the Loop. Could make sense with all those new Class A offices nearby and the Riverwalk too.

Hopefully someone in charge of these decisions will catch wind of our suggestion lol.

That this plot of land has sat vacant for more than a decade is a travesty.

I liked the previous designs for this site but am growing tired of all the blue glass towers being built nearby. I would love to see something 900+ ft. and with a little pop of shading or maybe even a little white to serve as a counterpoint to Sears Tower down the street.

^ Lol, not happening! This location is in no way a "sweet location for high end condos". A hotel and apartments would probably work but not high end condos. This site is in the middle of the CBD and surrounded by nothing but office towers and very little else. If Mich Ave in the South Loop (1000M) can't support high end condos, I'm not sure how this location would be any better.

There are residential buildings directly across the street from this plot on Franklin and on both sides of Washington St.

How brilliant of the Crown Family it was to demo the historic building that was already here.

By now the old CME building would’ve been a hotel, perhaps apartments, or office lofts generating returns for its investors and tax dollars.

Came across this photo of Randolph and Franklin from the 1979 looking North. Pretty wild and thought some here would appreciate.

To help with orientation, the CNA building stands now where "Zimmerrmans" is on the northeast corner.

There is a pocket park now where the "Showmen's League" is in the photo.

130 N Franklin is on the Southwest corner slightly visible here. CME building would have been a little south of that.

Obviously a few more changes too.
