The CDR submission link on page 1 isn't working for me, but the renders show street trees.

But that doesn't mean they are a guarantee. I hope they are included. All this development along Spring Garden is great, but vegetation is an important (overlooked) catalyst to improving a neighborhood.

Wow, and I thought the Giant on Delaware Ave in South Philly was ugly.

I would imagine that Amazon did their due-diligence in terms of creating a design people would feel attracted to going too. I guess people like bland and sterile looking super markets.

nice clean, straight forward design.
I think it was a missed opportunity to have such a large single-story build on so much of the site.
Early on Amazon was going to take 40K of the 60K feet of commercial space; is that still the plan, and has CVS etc. taken the rest of the space?

Any chance for a green roof on the lower level?

Never knew how much of Yards' roof was covered in solar panels.

Can’t say I’m a fan of this one. The massing is odd. They could have done something much more interesting given the angle of 5th St.

The weird green line design above the doorway in the picture helloworld posted is on all of amazon's grocery stores so they're definitely moving in.

Two minor updates. First, it seems like they're pushing for the grocery store to open asap (the sidewalk in front of that section was being re-installed this morning).

Also, it looks like the street trees are still included. There were actually 6-8 trees on site this morning waiting to be planted (which have to be for around the 1 story section since the main section hasn't topped off yet).

I mean, on the flip side, with the massing concentrated on the east side of the site, it preserves the view corridors for many more people. If that building were that mass all of the way across the site it would have cloaked much of the development behind it in constant shadow.

To me it feels like a nice response to the surrounding area.

Add to that, I don't know what early iterations of this site looked like, but if the NoLibs Zoning Committee was involved they could have asked for the massing for the aforementioned reason. It could also have something to do with specifications from Amazon.

Who knows.

The live cam shows the trees along 6th planted as of today.

Glad to hear trees are going in but a 95 degree day is hardly the time to shock a new street tree
