Hot off the presses! Well, atlas… Construction permit issued yesterday, Tue May 07 2019.
Pro tip: This permit doesn't show up if you search atlas for 1911 Walnut, search for 1907 Walnut (also shows up for search of some, but not all, odd # addresses between 1907-1915). Atlas has quirks.

20th and Sansom, you mean? Across from the Harper?
Sansom street is closed along this block and it kind of looked like a cement truck was pumping cement into one of the derelict buildings on site? I had a full plate from Gus the Cart Guy so wasn't about to detour to get a closer look... but maybe something is getting underway?
I don't know if the Verizon guys just like to hang out here during the day, or they are doing work related to The Laurel, but literally here every day the last 2 weeks.

They probably go there to nap during the day. It's the quietest part of Center City. .
^^The big dirt pile has been there since at least Friday. At that time, it still didn't look/feel like an actual full-steam-ahead construction site - more like testing or preliminary work. Has that changed?

Hard to say. But they’re digging and doing site work. And before a Friday they weren’t.
^^Verizon guys were back! Also, there is a surveying crew doing measurements and what not. Also, a piece of machinery was moved out to Walnut Street. Both entrances to the site are opened, and a lot more dudes working -- so things are picking up!

Once they finally remove the old parking attendant stand in the middle of the asphalt lot that's still there (though i did see grading equipment) - I'll know it's finally game on.
Just walked past - it looks like it's pretty full steam ahead. They are parking all of their New Jersey trucks (looks like a Blackwood, NJ based crew) on the old parking lot at 20th/Sansom - meanwhile the big excavator is digging away on the Walnut facing side. Probably a dozen trucks on site.
