The Michael Reese site is the best site for Amazon. It'll spur new development, and the renderings look gorgeous.

The best site for Amazon is undoubtedly The Post Office, however the site that would most benefit the city is probably Michael Reese. I say that because The Post Office is already a done-deal whereas Michael Reese, and the other North Branch sites, are in need of anchor tenets in order to get started, especially with the type of scale being proposed.

Maybe once this, 1001 W. Chicago, 716 N. Aberdeen (and maybe the CVS, US Bank lot) are done, they'll make that triangle a little park. Too small to build on, just plant some trees.

I feel like one of us should post this cool reenactment recently staged by Iron Workers Local #1. Life Magazine original from 1932 is the RCA Building in Midtown Manhattan, while the modern photo appears to be at 151 N. Franklin.

Didn't No. 9 get some kind of late-in-the-game building permit to grow considerably taller?

Looks about T/O and the roof hasn't moved.

Hopefully the landlords make an effort to get Greek related businesses or restaurants into that spot. With Parthenon having closed (as well as Costa's and Greektown Gyros), I fear that the neighborhood could start feeling a bit watered down.

It's freakin' great. They must've rehearsed the exact poses a bit on the ground first. I wonder how they determined who would get which role. And somebody had to get the prop lunch boxes.

Even the angle at which the photo was taken is the same, as well as the fact there is a long low-rise vista filling the background.

And the girder depth is nearly the same - but its width does seem to be much narrower in the modern version.

I'm really surprised they were allowed to do this with modern workplace safety rules.
