Is this building completely finished? If so, then I think Colborne should win 2023 Street of the Year. In spite of Toronto's griddishness and wider streets, I think this is about the closest you're going to get to the City (of London) on this side of the pond.

Even if it's just the suggestion of it, I mean. Obviously you can't take claims of a resemblance too far.

Great TO photos! Can’t go wrong with Jack Landau pics - he’s a master at architectural photography - you should check out his recent San Francisco pics - I can’t think of another city in North America that looks anything like it.

Ok, so now a step down, lol, to my Victoria shots from the last several months but I’ve been promising the GreatScaper I’d finally get around to sharing them this month. A random mix of inner city shots, construction/deconstruction, houses and beaches - pretty much all within a 1 mile radius.

Ok, I’ll break up my photos into a few posts - the one above is a provincial government office with retail, restaurants and a boxing gym at street level.

Victoria’s arid summer stretched well into autumn this year. Much of Beacon Hill park is natural landscape, which is quite dry, but also has plenty of gardens.

Lots of site demolition work going on right now in preparation for new condos/rentals:

But first some more nice November shots:

For some reason this one reminds me of Japan - street just on the edge of downtown:

Rudlin Street, Victoria B.C. - Nov 22, 2022 by JohnnyJayEh, on Flickr

November 24th was still looking nice - not long after the trees really started losing their leaves after a wind storm.

Have your noticed that nearly everyone in these pics on a bike is wearing a helmet?

And that’s all she wrote! I’ll try to be more frequent with smaller updates in the future, hoping to add moral support for the GreatScaper who seems to be the only person providing Victoria material on SSP.

Amazing (epic) sets @Zoomer... bravo.

Was suprised to see so much orange/red brick in Victoria... that synagogue is a gem (looks like something you'd find hidden in Cabbagetown ;-).

Killer Victoria set. It's been so long since I've spent any real time there. I've got to make a trip out to the island next year.

Victoria looks like such a quality city. It has a weird sort of "Commonwealth but not Canada" look to it as well, like it is in New Zealand or something.

Yeah, it does look like a somewhat foreign Global Anglosphere City to me as well. New Zealand would be a good guess!

zoomer, I fully agree about that house / scene looking straight out of Japan (to a non-expert on Japan, at least).
