The fine people of Austin love hearing the opinions of the tri-state area, no doubt.

At any rate, this was published more than 2 years ago. Stale proposal or DOA?

Neither. Karlin is working on the "smaller" tower and from what we hear on the ground that some sort of announcement is eminent. Word is that the first tower will include a hotel of ~1,000 rooms.

Cool! Austin continues to impress with the pace of development.

Specific plans for each tower were filed with the city a little bit prior to the pandemic, but progress stalled at that point. The ATX East Tower was/is the one that could be a supertall as planned. But I suspect it was/is around 900'. No idea what the revamped plans will be.

Holy cow, definitely one of the coolest projects in the country, hope it all goes through.

I think this is right next to 3rd and Congress too, imagine whatever goes there topping this and having a cluster of supertalls.

Nice and “thicc”.

Can I be sure that the taller tower has the same design on page 6 as on the first?

They look different; though I understand that odd-shaped structures can look wildly different from differing vantage points.
