I don't think that was an official rendering but rather one made by a forumer a while back.

We've heard anywhere from 1,270 - 1,350+ for the height, which I think will look good.

I've said this before but 1,270 works better as far as the spiral goes but an identical height to 1WTC would bring back the twin effect. Not sure which I prefer tbh.

Can someone edit it so where the two highest setbacks are it goes straight to the top? Thank you.

You're right, my mistake. It looks a little higher than 1WTC roof wise.

Technically 1WTC is "1776" feet tall though

Regardless of whatever design rises here, it will alter the Lower Manhattan skyline. Tower 5 moves closer to construction, while Tower 2 remains in limbo for the time being.

I hope this tower is iconic in its own right, and not just seen as a sibling of the Freedom Tower, which it will hide from a few angles.

I'm excited to see 5 WTC rise above the towers and be visible from the vantage point in the first picture

Tower 5 will be visible. It will be more visible from the Hudson side.

Original image from @mchlanglo793 on Instagram

Image upscaled by ALC11 on Yimby Forums. Seems like the design that leaked last year could be the true design. This image was also present at an event AT THE World Trade Center. So, seems official

Looks a little shorter (like 1,270') in that one, even accounting for the angle.

I still dig it though, just get it built sometime this decade.

yeah this one seems designed for a generic office needs client and its ok, or better than ok if they really build the highest occupied levels over 1 wtc's, which i hope they do regardless of final design (i have a feeling they won't though, but who knows?).

but in the meantime i'm excited to see tower 5 get going for now.

Highly unlikely, despite 1WTC officially being 1,776' feet tall, to visually follow the spiral plan they'll need to make it either at or below 1WTC's roof height.

Best case scenario they make it 1,362' like the old 2WTC. It may even look weird taller than tower 1.

^ agreed, but we can only go by the renders for now.

renderings, or more like sales pitch imaginings?

when they get a major client or as time goes on no doubt the design of it will change yet again.
