I’m hearing that there should be an announcement within the next two weeks.

Now whether a stadium actually gets built and an MLS team eventually plays here is anybody’s guess? I’ll believe it when they finally take to the pitch in the new stadium.

I just had to say so, and 5 days later it happens.

More importantly as soon as this is announced, the stadium in the railyards will get underway immediately. This is going to boost development to start popping up in the railyards and surely give a little boost to development in the area in general. Good news for any of us who want to see Sacramento grow upwards and fill in!

Like a fair weather fan, Nikefootballer is here to spike the ball and declare
victory… victooory! I guess will hear from you again in 2 ½ years?

This is great news and let’s hope the economy stays strong so this can be
completed as proposed.

I don't care about the stadium at all, I just hope this incentivizes more home/apartment building downtown.

I mean stadiums and arenas can become eye sores in a city and/or dead sport in a sea of parking OR they can enhance a city with great architecture, urban planning and help establish new neighborhoods.

If you want the latter to be true for new housing I would think you would very much care about the stadium. Keeping in mind the seating is only about a quarter of a NFL stadium, it won't be gargantuan with plenty of developable land around it.

And a built in light rail station right next to it. None of the renderings have parking, it's always surrounded by new housing.. which makes me suspicious, thanks for pointing that out.
