No... it's just a shortened form of "babe", and the term have been around for over a decade in R&B music. It's only recently become really popular. "Beyond Anyone Else" is a backronym.

I see that the abreviation of BAE needed a couple of explanation...

Wow, I wouldn't want to be renting a 2BR at Bay/St. George, although come to think of it I am.

Ever wondered what the distances in your provinces represent compared to another prov. ?

Small map exercise.
Warning, 2048 px. wide.

Capital on capital.
Québec City on Toronto.
Same projection / Same scale.
What would Quebec be like in Ontario.

I see that they only polled Quebec Anglophones for making those maps.

The result would have been interesting if they'd used a generic sample of Quebec residents instead. In many cases I'm guessing Québécois and Westerners would be the ones having common ground, with American rather than British words as you would normally see in "older" Anglo Eastern Canada. (Due to having a noticeably higher % of their cultural content that's American-sourced rather than GTA-sourced.)

For here, it's

"Power outlets"
"Light switches"
"Electric meters" (or just "meters", as we don't have water meters)
"Hydro bills"
"is Hydro included with this apartment?"

(all translated into English to their most direct equivalent to the best of my knowledge for this post.)

Those are really cool.

My family actually perfectly fit into each one.

In BC we also tend to call major power lines "hydro-lines"

BTW, "light bill" is a dead giveaway people are burning stuff in their houses to heat themselves in winter. We'd never, ever call it like that. Anyone who would say that would get weird looks.
